Government should pay attention to TRAI recommendations: COAI

In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Rajan Mathews, Director-General of the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) spoke about the same.

If that information is true, I would be very disappointed on behalf of the industry. We talked about green shoots but green shoots are very susceptible to scorching and heating by the noon day sun. So I would be very cautious in interpreting these ‘green shoots’ but the investor community, the banks, the industry, independent voices have all indicated the urgency of quickly addressing this. I would caution against not doing anything and sort of recommend for an expeditious intervention at this point, he said.

Government should pay attention to these recommendations from Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), he added.
