Moneycontrol BureauInfra major GMR Infrastructure Limited's subsidiary GMR Airports Limited (GAL) has won bid for development and operation of Mopa Greenfield Airport in North Goa.The airport will be built under the BOT (Build Operate Transfer) model. Its total ordersize is Rs 3300 crore, sources say.The concession period for the Greenfield project is 40 years, which can be further extended to another 20 years through a bid process.“The regulatory regime for the concession will be hybrid till with 30 percent cross subsidy. The concession offers 232 acres of land for commercial city side development for a period of 60 years,” the press release said. Other bidders included Airports Authority, Essel Infra, GVK as well as Hiranandani-led Voluptas Developers, CNBC-TV18 reported. GMR Group owns and operates India's Delhi Airport which is presently ranked as World’s No 1 airport in its passenger category. It has also built Hyderabad airport which has been consistently ranked among World’s top three airports in its category over the last 7 years. GMR Infrastructure in partnership with Megawide Construction Corporation is also developing Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) in Philippines.
