Bvlgari, one of the world's most expensive watch and jewelery brands has finally come to India with a store at the DLF Emporio in New Delhi. Bvlgari's CEO Jean-Christophe Babin didn't want to talk numbers, but did say it takes 4 to 10 million euros to open any store.
Babin also said while Bvlgari is very bullish on India, its just not able to find real estate in Bombay and Bangalore that is worthy of the Italian luxury brand. And don't think that's because he doesn't know India.
Babin had spearheaded Tag Heur's successful expansion in the country as the watchmaker's global CEO. The most expensive item at Bvlgari's newest store is a necklace for a whopping 1.5 million euros, and the luxury brand is confident its soon to be launched bridal wear is going to make life difficult for Indian HNIs family jewelers.
