Punjab & Sind Bank pays Rs 36.61 crore dividend to govt

State-owned Punjab & Sind Bank today paid Rs 36.61 crore dividend to the government for the financial year 2010-2011.

State-owned Punjab & Sind Bank today paid Rs 36.61 crore dividend to the government for the financial year 2010-2011.


The bank had declared 20% dividend per equity share for the financial year, Punjab & Sind Bank said in a statement. Also read: Canara Bank goes ex-dividend
The dividend cheque was presented to Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee by Executive Director of the bank P K Anand.
This is the first dividend payout by the bank after the initial public offering (IPO) last year.
For the entire fiscal ended March 31, 2011, the net profit of the bank rose marginally by 3.5% to Rs 526.1 crore from Rs 508.8 crore recorded in the previous fiscal.
Total income improved to Rs 5,369.5 crore from Rs 4,345.9 crore in 2009-10.
