Maruti Suzuki India is losing Rs 40 crore in revenue per day due to the ongoing labour strike at its plant in Manesar, Chairman RC Bhargava said Tuesday.

The strike entered its fourth day today. The company, India's top passenger car maker, had sacked 11 workers at the plant on Monday. Bhargava said that the management was in talks with the workers. He has termed the strike as illegal.  The Manesar plant in Haryana produces 1,200 units per day, which includes sedans Swift Dzire, SX4 and the hatchback Swift, A-Star. The company has seen a production loss of 1,800 units so far due to the strike, Bhargava told CNBC-TV18. The production loss will impact delivery of diesel cars, he said. The SX4 and Swift Dzire already have a waiting period for delivery.  The production halt will also affect the export of A-Star car. Around 2,000 workers at the plant have gone on strike since Saturday. Below is a verbatim transcript of Bhargava
