Periwal to head RBS' private banking biz in western India

Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) today appointed Puneet Periwal as Market Head (west) in its private banking business.

Periwal joins the European bank from the brokerage Anand Rathi where he was Director of portfolio management and investments, an RBS statement said here.  He will be based in Mumbai and report to head of RBS private banking for the country, Shiv Gupta, it added.   The western region accounts for 40% of the foreign bank's overall private banking business in India. Periwal will be heading a team of 18 private bankers and relationship associates, the release added.
