In a bid to address deep concerns raised by exporters on the expiry of Duty Entitlement Pass Book (DEPB) scheme, the govenment has given its nod to extend the timeline beyond June 30. Reportedly, the revenue department will work out rates in the interim to convert the benefits of the DEPB scheme into duty drawback.
Sanjay S Lalbhai, CMD, Arvind said that duty drawback scheme in place of DEPB should be adequate. "In businesses like denim, the DEPB rates were better as compared to duty drawback's prices.
