GMR Infra which runs Delhi and Hyderabad airports, has said Kingfisher Airlines (KFA) and Air India (AI) collectively owe it Rs 648 crore toward parking and landing charges, reports CNBC-TV18 quoting NewsWire 18.
Earlier, GMR group had said that the mounting unpaid dues of carriers are affecting operations at both Delhi and Hyderabad airports.
While GMR is hopeful that AI may being clearing its dues of Rs 48 crore from January, there is still no clarity on when KFA will be able to pay. After announcing its September quarter earnings last month, Siddharth Kapur, CFO, GMR Airports had even said that their profits (before minority interest) in the airport division have shrunk to Rs 28 crore from Rs 210 crore, year-on-year, due to the pending dues from airlines.
