RBI names Anand Sinha as new deputy governor

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said on Wednesday Anand Sinha has taken over as the new deputy governor of the bank until Feb. 28, 2013.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said on Wednesday Anand Sinha has taken over as the new deputy governor of the bank until Feb. 28, 2013.

Sinha, who has replaced Usha Thorat, will look after two regulatory departments including Department of Banking Operations and Development and the Urban Banks Department, the statement said.

Sinha, who was earlier an executive director at the RBI, will also look after the Departments of Information Technology, Expenditure and Budgetary Control, Inspection, Legal and Premises.
