Essar Steel ropes in A Agarwala from Jindal Steel as CFO

Essar Steel India on Thursday said that it has appointed Ashutosh Agarwala its finance director and chief financial officer.

Agarwala joins Essar Steel from Jindal Steel & Power, where he was CFO & finance director for its steel and cement businesses. Agarwala has over 24 years of experience in finance, strategy, and mergers and acquisitions.
"Agarwala's experience in varied fields will be an asset for the company as he is joining us at a crucial juncture when the company is in its next phase of growth," Dilip Oommen, CEO & MD of Essar Steel said.
During his career, Agarwala has held senior leadership positions with ICICI Bank, Nagarjuna Fertilizers, Aditya Birla Group and GMR Infrastructure. A chemical engineer from the Institute of Technology at the Benaras Hindu University, Agarwala holds a PG in management from IIM, Bangalore.
