Nearing $2 bn annual revenue in India: Dell

Dell Inc, the world's No 2 maker of personal computers, is approaching USD 2 billion in annual revenue in India, Chief Executive Michael Dell told reporters in New Delhi.

Dell did not give the timeframe for the target or the current annual revenue in India. The company, which has 23,000 employees in India, plans to add "few thousand" people in Asia's third-largest economy over the next year or so. Last month, Dell's fourth quarter earnings and margins blew past Wall Street expectations as component costs slid and corporations replaced aging technology.
