In the first step to the roll-out of the country's largest indirect tax reform, the constitutional amendment bill for Goods and Services Tax (GST) was tabled in Parliament today. The Bill was tabled despite opposition, mainly from BJP-ruled states, and is now, likely to be referred to the Parliamentary Standing Committee for scrutiny.
