House of Hiranandani, a real estate company run by Surendra Hiranandani, is planning to build Chennai’s tallest building. The residential project is expected to be 150 metres tall and is likely to be constructed on the company’s 120-acre Egatur Township on Chennai’s IT expressway, sources have told CNBC-TV18. The company will set aside Rs 300 crore towards construction of the tower, which is expected to be south India’s second tallest building after Bengaluru’s 153-metres tall Mantri Pinnacle.Currently, the tallest building in Chennai - Bayview - is also a Hiranandani project. In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Surendra Hiranandani had said that the company will add 1.5 million square feet of residential realty to its existing projects in Chennai and Bengaluru by 2017.
