Former Aircel owner C Sivasankaran has entered India's crowded taxi space with the launch of UTOO cabs. CNBC-TV18 caught up with Sivasankaran on the sidelines of the launch where he said UTOO will begin with a fleet of 1,000 cars in Chennai and scale it up to 100,000 cars in phase one of its expansion.
The start-up will initially start its operations in the six metros, Pune and Jaipur.
UTOO cabs aims to make home-office commute easy and comfortable. The users will be able to book rides and create their own route through the UTOO app.
