Tamil Nadu projects to suffer till new govt come into power

What happens to projects and policies in Tamil Nadu in the gap of one month till the next government comes into power in Tamil Nadu? CNBC-TV18's Swathi Narayanan finds out.


According to the latest data from The Center for Monitoring the Indian Economy, over Rs 7 lakh crore of investments are in the pipeline for Tamil Nadu. These projects are mainly in the power, manufacturing and services sector. Government sources tell CNBC-TV18 that around Rs 10 thousand crore of investment will be evaluated in the next one month and will be immediately sent to the new government for approval.
Aside of these some of the other major projects that will be waiting for the new government to be formed include Ashok Leyland's LCV facility near Chennai with an investment of over Rs 2,000 crore, Saint Gobain solar glass complex with an investment of around Rs 1,000 crore and Hyundai's plans to set up a diesel engine plant and a plant for auto components with an investment of Rs 1,500 crore.
Now aside of all this the new policies which will be waiting for the new government nod will include a new policy for the biotech sector and policies for the auto sector and for the solar glass industry amongst others.
