Sometimes the best ingredients are those that we ignorantly discard away, not knowing how much wonders they can do to our health. Gastroenterologist Dr Pal recently shared a video, catching many by surprise. In the video, he shared that the threads that usually corns come with are packed with fibre and antioxidants. Surprised? Well, many of us are. The doctor captioned the post as, "Stop throwing this away! It’s packed with fiber & gut-friendly antioxidants."

Now the question comes is how does one incorporate these threads into our diet? The doctor had an easy answer for this too. He shared that just 50 grams of the thread contains around 5 grams of fibre. One way to go about it is by making a chutney out of it. To do that, the doctor shares that one can lightly roast dried corn silk with curry leaves, red chillies and garlic. Then grind all ingredients and add tamarind and salt to it. Well, this is how you prepare the chutney that is rich in nutrients.

Another way you can intake the threads is by brewing a warm tea free from caffeine. All one needs to do that is boil 2 to 3 teaspoons of fresh corn silk in 2 cups of water for about 15 minutes and then eventually strain the treads and drink it. As per the doctor, it would be great and refreshing for kidneys and bladder.
