When both Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor fainted at their own wedding

Weddings are remembered for rituals, laughter, and joy—but for Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, their big day also came with a surprising twist. The actress revisited the chaotic and hilarious, moment when both she and Rishi fainted before tying the knot back in 1980.

Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor’s wedding on January 22, 1980, was one of the grandest celebrations Bollywood had ever seen. The entire area from RK House to the golf course was cordoned off, with festivities stretching over 20 days.

In a throwback interview, Neetu Kapoor recalled how the scale of the wedding left both bride and groom overwhelmed. She revealed, “I fainted at my wedding and so did my husband. My lehenga was too heavy and the crowd was just too much. My husband fainted because he couldn’t take the crowd. He fainted just before he was to climb on the ghodi.”

She also shared another amusing memory, saying that several gate crashers made their way into the reception, carrying gift boxes. When opened later, those boxes shockingly contained stones.
