In a deeply saddening development, the Kannada film industry is mourning the untimely loss of actor Santhosh Balaraj, who passed away on Tuesday morning at the age of 34.
According to a report by Daiji World, the young actor reportedly succumbed to complications arising from jaundice, leaving both the Sandalwood fraternity and his fans in disbelief.
Santhosh, son of the late renowned Kannada film producer Anekal Balaraj, breathed his last at approximately 9:45 am at a private hospital in Bengaluru.
Despite efforts by medical professionals, Santhosh was unable to recover and tragically lost his life.
His father, Anekal Balaraj, had made a notable contribution to the Kannada film industry and was best known for producing the hit film Kariya, which starred popular actor Darshan. Sadly, he too passed away in a tragic road accident in 2022, compounding the grief faced by the family.
Santhosh, who remained unmarried, lived with his mother and was considered one of Sandalwood’s most promising emerging talents. Over the years, he made a mark with his performances in several lead roles, most notably in Kariya 2, Kempa, Ganapa, Barkley, and Satya.
His intense screen presence and dedication to his craft had begun to earn him recognition and respect within the Kannada cinema landscape.
His sudden demise has cast a pall over the industry, with colleagues, fans, and friends expressing their shock and offering condolences.
As tributes continue to pour in, Santhosh Balaraj is being remembered not just for his potential and achievements, but also for the passion and promise he brought to the silver screen.
