Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra was recently hospitalised due to age-related illness, leaving his fans concerned. The sudden hospitalisation also fueled his death rumours, which were later debunked by the family.
However, a new report has suggested that Dharmendra is doing better than before.
A source close to the Deol family told NDTV, "He is fine, better than earlier." However, Hema Malini and family are now planning to celebrate Dharmendra’s 90th birthday.
A separate source told Bollywood Hungama, “If God is willing, we will be celebrating two birthdays next month — Dharamji’s and Esha’s.”
After his health declined, Dharmendra was admitted to the hospital and treated for a few days before being released on November 12. On November 11, his wife, actress Hema Malini, and daughter Esha Deol made public statements confirming that he was still alive and recovering after false rumours about his death spread widely during his hospitalisation.
The Deol family issued an official statement after he was discharged from the hospital. They also requested privacy and thanked well-wishers for their support.
The statement read, “Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time.”
The statement added, “We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you."
However, a video of Dharmendra inside the hospital recently went viral on social media. In the video, Dharmendra was seen lying on a hospital bed, seemingly unconscious, with his family by his side.
The veteran actor was seen unconscious on a hospital bed with his sons, Bobby Deol and Sunny, standing next to him. Prakash Kaur, Dharmendra's first wife, and Sunny's sons, Karan and Rajveer Deol, were also seen sitting close to the actor in the video. The video, which swiftly gained popularity on social media, showed the family clearly in tears. A hospital employee is currently being investigated for allegedly leaking the video.
