Farhan Akhtar made a comeback to the big screen with 120 Bahadur six years after he starred in the 2019 film The Sky is Pink, which also starred Priyanka Chopra. The highly anticipated film, 120 Bahadur, debuted in the theatres on November 21 with positive reviews but a lacklustre box office collection.
According to Sacnilk, 120 Bahadur earned an estimated Rs 2.35 crore on its first Friday with an occupancy of 8.58%. The foot traffic for morning shows was 4.52%, which increased to 6.58% in the afternoon, 8.53% in the evening, and a maximum of 14.70% at night.
Chennai topped the occupancy chart in terms of city-wise performance, with 33.67%. The occupancy rates in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai were 8.25% and 9.50%, respectively. With occupancy rates of 11.50% and 10.50%, respectively, the film fared better in Jaipur and Hyderabad.
120 Bahadur explores the 1962 Sino-Indian War's Battle of Rezang La. The film centres on the soldiers from Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment, who braved a massive 3000-strong Chinese Army with unmatched bravery and sacrifice.
Farhan portrayed the fabled martyr Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, who received the Param Vir Chakra after his death for his valour during the Battle of Rezang La.
Directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai, the film features an ensemble cast including Raashii Khanna, Sparsh Walia, Vivan Bhatena, Dhanveer Singh, Digvijay Pratap, Sahib Verma, Ankit Siwach, Devendra Ahirwar, Ashutosh Shukla, Brijesh Karanwal, Atul Singh, Ajinkya Deo and Eijaz Khan in significant roles.
