Lok Sabha elections 2024: Jailed Engineer Rashid scores stunning victory over Omar Abdullah in Baramulla

In a historic electoral upset in Jammu and Kashmir, former MLA Sheikh Abdul Rashid, also known as Engineer Rashid, defeated former chief minister Omar Abdullah in the Baramulla Lok Sabha constituency by over 200,000 votes. Despite being jailed under the UAPA, Rashid emerged victorious against prominent opponents, including People's Conference president Sajad Gani Lone.
