Chhattisgarh 2024 Lok Sabha Election Polls: This year’s election is to be held in three phases, on April 19, April 26 and May 7. The BJP released the names of candidates for all the 11 seats and has fielded Brijmohan Agrawal from Raipur, and Mahesh Kashyap from Bastar. This time, the BJP has also fielded three women candidates.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been a significant political force in Chhattisgarh, particularly in recent years. While the Congress has historically had a strong presence in the state, the BJP has gradually gained ground and emerged as a formidable competitor.

In the 2003 Chhattisgarh Assembly elections, the BJP emerged as the single largest party with 50 seats but fell short of an absolute majority in the 90-member assembly. To form the government, the BJP forged a post-poll alliance with the Chhattisgarh Swabhiman Manch (CSM), which won one seat. Raman Singh became the Chief Minister, marking the beginning of BJP's 15-year rule in the state.

Under Raman Singh's leadership, the BJP government focused on infrastructure development, industrial growth, and improving law and order. The administration introduced several welfare schemes aimed at addressing the needs of the people, particularly in rural areas.
