Bansuri Swaraj, the daughter of the late former foreign affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, is poised to step into the electoral arena for the first time. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) officially announced Bansuri Swaraj as their candidate for the New Delhi Lok Sabha seat in the upcoming elections.
Following the declaration of her candidacy, Bansuri expressed gratitude to the BJP top brass. "Committed to 'Modi government once again' in 2024," she further posted on social media platform X.

- Enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi in 2007
- Advocate with over 15 years of experience
- Co-convenor of the BJP Delhi's legal cell since last year
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from the University of Warwick
- Pursued a law degree at BPP Law School in London
- Holds a Masters of Studies degree from St. Catherine's College at the University of Oxford
- Qualified as a Barrister at Law, called to the bar from the Hon’ble Inn of Inner Temple, London
The BJP unveiled its first list of 195 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on March 2. The list has 34 central ministers, Ministers of State (MoS), and the Lok Sabha Speaker. Comprising 28 women and 47 young leaders, the candidates span across 16 states and Union Territories.
