Highlighting the role of booth-level officers, he said they played a vital role in the poll body's successful completion of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the state.

Underlining the new steps taken by the EC which will further solidify the voting mechanism across the nation, Kumar said: Bihar has become the first state in the country where every polling station will now cater to fewer than 1,200 voters. The Election Commission said the move is aimed at reducing long queues and making voting more convenient. This practice will be taken up throughout the country, assured CEC.
