Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Yojana 2024 Scheme: The Maharashtra government is set to launch its flagship 'Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin' scheme today, on August 17. The initiative promises to provide monthly financial assistance of Rs. 1,500 to over a crore women in the state.
The scheme, designed as a safety net for women from economically weaker sections is expected to cover a wide range of beneficiaries, particularly those living below the poverty line. While the exact eligibility criteria are still being finalised, the government aims to reach out to a substantial portion of the state's female population.
A recent trial run, conducted on August 14, offered a glimpse into the scheme's implementation, with eligible women receiving Rs. 3,000 as a two-month advance.
Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Scheme
The Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin scheme is backed by a substantial allocation of Rs. 46,000 crore from the state's supplementary budget. This significant investment underscores the government's commitment to improving the lives of women in Maharashtra.
Key Eligibility Criteria
1. Permanent Residency: Applicants must be permanent residents of Maharashtra.
2. Age: Women between the ages of 21 and 65 are eligible.
3. Financial Disadvantage: The scheme targets women from economically weaker sections, with a household income of less than ₹2.5 lakh per annum.
Application Process
The Maharashtra government has introduced the 'Nari Shakti Dhoot' application as the primary channel for applying for the scheme. Eligible women can submit their applications online through this platform.
To assist women in the application process, local administration officials such as Anganwadi workers and gram sevaks will be available to provide guidance and support. Importantly, there is no fee associated with the application or enrollment.
Aadhaar Linking
To streamline the verification process and ensure timely disbursement of benefits, officials strongly encourage applicants to link their Aadhaar cards to their bank accounts. Banks across the state have been instructed to facilitate this process.
