KEAM Result Cancelled: The Kerala High Court has quashed the results of the Kerala Engineering, Architecture, and Medical (KEAM) 2025 entrance exam, ruling that last-minute changes to the prospectus were unjust.
Justice D.K. Singh ordered the cancellation of the rank list published under the amended prospectus and directed authorities to release a revised list based on the original eligibility criteria.
The Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE) conducted the KEAM 2025 exam between April 23 and April 29, with results declared on May 14. The initial rank list was published on July 1. However, on the same day, the Kerala government issued an order modifying the prospectus, altering key criteria:
Changed the weightage ratio for Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry from 1:1:1 to 5:3:2.
Removed additional weightage previously given to CBSE/ICSE students.
The last-minute amendment was challenged in a writ petition filed by Hana Fatima Ahinus, who argued that the changes were arbitrary and unfair to students who had prepared based on the original prospectus.
The court agreed, stating that altering the rules after the exam and results violated principles of fairness and transparency.
KEAM 2025 aspirants now face uncertainty as the counselling and admission process may be delayed. The court's decision ensures that the original selection criteria are followed, maintaining equal opportunity for all candidates.
