Nagpur violence: Woman cop 'touched inappropriately', obscene gestures made at others, alleges FIR

An FIR registered at Ganeshpeth Police Station in connection with the Nagpur violence reveals that an accused inappropriately touched the uniform and body of an on-duty woman police officer from the RCP squad during the incident, ANI reported.

The accused further made obscene gestures and behaved improperly with a few women police personnel.

A senior police official told PTI that the law and order situation in Nagpur – which was shaken by violence on the night of March 17 – is under control. However, curfew restrictions remain in certain sensitive areas of the city.

Another official said that more than 2,000 armed police personnel have been deployed in the sensitive areas. Similarly, the QRT (quick response team) and RCP (riot control police) are conducting patrolling led by a DCP-rank officer, he said.
