A video from the Indore-Delhi train has gone viral, showing a woman furiously breaking the window of an air-conditioned coach after her purse was allegedly stolen during the journey. The incident allegedly took place on Wednesday and has sparked widespread debate online.
In the viral video, the woman, who had a small child sitting beside her, is seen using a tray to repeatedly hit the train window. Despite requests from fellow passengers to stop, she continues to strike the glass until it completely breaks, spreading shards across the seat and floor.
She appears extremely upset and can be heard shouting, “Mera purse chahiye… baat khatam,” demanding that her stolen purse be returned.
According to media reports, the woman had approached the Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials for help but claimed that they did not take her complaint seriously. Feeling ignored and helpless, she returned to her seat and began smashing the window in anger and frustration. Even after injuring herself from the broken glass, she refused to stop.
The video quickly spread on social media, drawing both sympathy and criticism. Many people online said her anger was understandable since her plea for help was allegedly ignored.
However, others argued that breaking railway property was not justified and could have endangered other passengers, especially the child sitting beside her.
So far, railway officials have not released an official statement on the incident or responded to the accusations made against the RPF.
