Gurgaon reeled under traffic snarls and waterlogging on Monday as heavy rain lashed the city, bringing key routes to a standstill. NH8, Badshapur, Manesar and Sohna were among the worst-affected stretches, with long jams reported throughout the day.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a yellow alert for September 1, predicting rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in the afternoon and evening.
Videos shared online showed vehicles crawling through flooded roads, while underpasses and low-lying areas remained submerged. Commuters in Gurgaon faced severe delays, and traffic movement slowed to a crawl on major arteries.
Waterlogging has been reported in several areas of Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and parts of Delhi, resulting in severe traffic congestion.
