The holy city of Ayodhya is preparing for the grand ‘Dhvajarohan’ (flag hoisting) ceremony at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, scheduled for November 25.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist a saffron flag atop the temple’s 161-foot-high main spire, marking the first time all seven spires of the temple will be adorned with saffron flags, officials from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust said on Tuesday.

The ceremony will be conducted in the presence of RSS chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The date coincides with Vivah Panchami, a festival celebrating the divine marriage of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita.
