A viral prophecy by Japanese manga artist and self-proclaimed clairvoyant Ryo Tatsuki has sparked global concern, particularly over her prediction of a devastating mega-tsunami in July 2025. Ryo Tatsuki rose to fame for her book The Future I Saw, first published in 1999. The book blends manga-style storytelling with diary-like entries of her so-called prophetic dreams. Some of her earlier predictions reportedly aligned with real-world events, which helped build her reputation as a modern-day prophet.

In a 2021 update to her book, Tatsuki claimed she dreamt of a major undersea rupture between Japan and the Philippines, expected to trigger a massive tsunami and volcanic eruptions in July 2025. The prediction has earned her comparisons to Baba Vanga, the Balkan mystic known for her controversial prophecies.
