Trent shares rose up to 7% after its standalone revenue grew 20% in Q4FY26, rebounding from slower growth. The Tata group retailer expanded store count to 1,286 and plans further openings in smaller cities, boosted by increased consumer spending.

Trent share price rose up to 7 percent in Monday's trading session as the fast-fashion retailer's standalone revenue rose 20 percent in the March quarter, picking up from the slowest growth in four years recorded earlier in fiscal 2026.

Shares of Trent jumped 6.8 percent to an intraday high of Rs 3,791.90 per share on the NSE. The stock opened gap-up with a gain of 2.37 percent. The stock has been gaining for the last three trading sessions and is up nearly 14 percent in the period.

The sharp upmove was seen after the company’s standalone revenue from operations rose 20 percent year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 4,937 crore in Q4FY26, compared to Rs 4,106 crore in the year-ago period. For the full year, revenue grew 18 percent YoY to Rs 19,701 crore, up from Rs 16,668 crore in FY25.

Revenue from sale of merchandise, excluding other operating income, increased 21 percent YoY in the quarter and 19 percent for the full year ended March 2026.

The September tax cuts also boosted consumer spending, putting more disposable income in the hands of consumers.

Trent has been on a store-opening spree over the last few quarters, with its store count climbing to 1,286 by March 31, compared with about 1,043 a year earlier.

The Tata group firm, which runs youth-focused fashion chains Zudio and Westside, also plans to open more stores in smaller cities and towns in the world's most-populous country, betting on demand growth outside the key metro markets.

Indian equities fell on April 6, with Sensex and Nifty down 0.6%. Senco Gold surged 12% on strong Q4 growth, V-Mart Retail rose 9% after revenue jumped 24%, Trent Ltd gained 5% on robust results, and Nykaa climbed 3.9% with upbeat Q4 guidance.

Indian equities extended their downward trend on April 6, with stock-specific movements dominating trade amid a broadly range-bound market. Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty declined 0.6 percent each, while broader markets saw mild losses, with the BSE MidCap 150 Index and BSE SmallCap 250 Index falling 0.2 percent and 0.4 percent, respectively.

Among the gainers, Senco Gold rose 12 percent to Rs 323 per share, supported by a strong Q4 business update. The company reported about 35 percent year-on-year growth in FY26, compared with 21 percent in FY25. It also guided for a 20–25 percent value growth in the first quarter of fiscal 2027 while maintaining its EBITDA margin target of 7.5–7.8 percent.

V-Mart Retail gained over 9 percent, extending its rally for the third straight session following a strong Q4 business update. The company reported revenue of Rs 971 crore for the quarter, up from Rs 780 crore a year earlier, reflecting a 24 percent year-on-year growth. Same-store sales growth stood at 12 percent for the quarter.

Trent Ltd rose about 5 percent after reporting its Q4FY26 and full-year business update. The company’s standalone revenue from operations increased 20 percent year-on-year to Rs 4,937 crore in Q4FY26, compared with Rs 4,106 crore a year earlier. For the full year, revenue rose 18 percent to Rs 19,701 crore from Rs 16,668 crore in FY25.

Shares of FSN E-Commerce Ventures, the parent company of Nykaa, gained as much as 3.9 percent, marking their biggest rise since February 6. The company said it expects fourth-quarter net revenue growth in the late twenties, while full-year growth is seen at the upper end of the mid-twenties.

Its beauty segment is expected to deliver growth in the late twenties across GMV, net sales value, and net revenue, while the fashion segment saw acceleration with GMV growth in the late twenties and net sales value growth in the early forties. The company added a record 37 stores in the fourth quarter, taking its total store count to 313 as of March 31.

Shares of Rail Vikas Nigam declined more than 2 percent in the opening trade on April 6 despite the company secured an order worth ₹242.49 crore from South Central Railway.

At 09:19am, Rail Vikas Nigam was quoting at Rs 254.80, down Rs 6.05, or 2.32 percent, on the BSE.

According to the company’s exchange filing, it has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of OHE (Overhead Equipment) upgradation. The project involves upgrading the existing 1x25 kV system to a 2x25 kV AT feeding system, along with feeder and earthing works in the Ongole (OGL) to Gudur (GDR) section of the Vijayawada Division.

The total project covers 154 RKM / 462 TKM and is scheduled to be completed within 24 months.

Earlier in March, the company had also received an LoA worth ₹95.27 crore from National Mineral Development Corporation for refurbishment and maintenance works at its Chhattisgarh facilities.

The shares have declined 28% over the past three months.

In the previous trading session, the stock closed 5.19% higher at ₹262.60, gaining ₹12.95. The stock has touched a 52-week high of ₹448 (May 20, 2025) and a 52-week low of ₹248.25 (March 30, 2026). It is currently trading 41.77% below its 52-week high and 5.08% above its 52-week low.

The company’s market capitalisation stands at ₹54,387.75 crore.

Rail Vikas Nigam wins Rs 242 crore order; share price trade lower

Shares of G R Infraprojects rose in the early trade on April 6 after the company signed an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) agreement worth ₹1,898 crore with West Central Railway.

At 09:21am, G R Infraprojects was quoting at Rs 847.80, up Rs 9.35, or 1.12 percent, on the BSE.

The contract involves the construction of a new railway line between Bahari and Gondawali stations in Madhya Pradesh. The project is scheduled to be completed within 900 days from the appointed date.

Last month, the company secured a ₹1,453.57 crore Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the National Highways Authority of India for upgrading a two-lane carriageway to a four-lane divided highway on NH-56 in Gujarat under the hybrid annuity mode.

Additionally, it received a ₹413.37 crore notification of award from NTPC Limited for the implementation of battery energy storage systems (BESS) at the Mouda Super Thermal Power Station.

In the previous trading session, the stock closed at ₹838.45, up ₹2.90 or 0.35%.

Foreign investors sold around Rs 35,000 crore worth of shares in HDFC Bank during the March 2026 quarter amid continued volatility and a sharp decline in the stock. HDFC Bank shares fell nearly 26.2 percent during the quarter, marking their steepest decline since March 2020, when the stock dropped over 33 percent.

According to the latest shareholding pattern data, FIIs reduced their stake by about 3.6 percent, or 47.95 crore shares, during the quarter. The number of FIIs invested in the bank declined to 2,528 at the end of March from 2,757 at the end of December 2025. This marked the third consecutive quarter of FII stake reduction in the lender. FII holding stood at 44.05 percent as of March 2026, down from 47.67 percent in the previous quarter.

In contrast, domestic institutional investors increased their exposure. Mutual funds raised their stake for the fifth consecutive quarter to 29.54 percent from 26.66 percent, buying about 2.88 percent stake or 38.67 crore shares worth Rs 28,293 crore during the quarter. Provident funds bought shares worth Rs 2,239 crore, while insurance companies added around Rs 256 crore worth of shares. However, Life Insurance Corporation of India sold shares worth Rs 969 crore during the period.

The stock's decline has been driven by multiple factors, including the unexpected resignation of Chairman Atanu Chakraborty, who cited “certain happenings and practices” over the past two years that did not align with his values, raising governance concerns. Investor sentiment was also affected by reports that SEBI is reviewing the resignation letter.



The bank has faced challenges following the top management transition since October 2020, along with regulatory actions such as the suspension of its credit card business by the RBI and the merger with HDFC Ltd, which impacted growth and margins. The management, however, has indicated confidence in recovery, supported by easing regulatory pressures and a pause in the rate cycle, and said recent senior management exits will not derail the turnaround.

Concerns around internal governance, post-merger integration, a high loan-to-deposit ratio and allegations of employee misconduct in bond sales have also weighed on sentiment. Reports indicate the bank has taken action against senior executives over alleged mis-selling of Additional Tier 1 bonds.

The lender continues to navigate challenges related to the merger, including elevated loan-to-deposit ratios and relatively slower retail loan growth. Amid these developments, Jefferies has reduced its exposure to HDFC Bank across its Asia (excluding Japan), global and international long-only portfolios, removing the stock from its investment lists.
