US-based Nexus Venture Partners has on April 8 pared its 1.6 percent equity stake in Delhivery, the logistics services provider, via open market transactions. However, the said stake was bought by several asset management companies.

Delhivery shares rallied 4.04 percent to Rs 459.85, the highest closing level since November 4, 2025 after gap-up opening with above-average volumes. In fact, the stock has been rising for third consecutive session along with high volumes, trading well above all key moving averages.

Nexus Ventures III, and Nexus Opportunity Fund, owned by the Nexus Venture Partners which invest in US and India, sold 1.04 crore shares and 15.62 lakh shares in the logistics firm for Rs 461.3 crore, and Rs 69.08 crore, respectively. This totalled to 1.6 percent stake (1.2 crore shares) worth Rs 530.4 crore.

Nexus Ventures III held 4.49 percent stake in Delhivery as of December 2025.

On the contrary, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company has bought 5.7 lakh shares in the logistics solution company for Rs 25.19 crore, and SBI Mutual Fund 45.75 lakh shares for Rs 202.21 crore.

This is in addition to 1.05 percent shares held by ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company and 5.5 percent stake owned by SBI Equity Hybrid Fund as of December 2025.

Further, Alphamine Absolute Return Fund and Edelweiss Mutual Fund each has purchased 5.7 lakh shares in the company for Rs 25.19 crore, while BNP Paribas Financial Markets has picked up 11.4 lakh shares for Rs 50.38 crore, and Nippon India Mutual Fund 45.75 lakh shares for Rs 202.21 crore.

The transaction price for the block deals in Delhivery was Rs 442 per share.

The small action was also seen in Jindal Poly Films, the largest manufacturer of BOPET and BOPP films, which fell 0.19 percent to Rs 849.8 on the National Stock Exchange.

Mace Venture has bought 2.85 lakh shares for Rs 25.47 crore, and M Prasad &amp;amp; Co acquired 7.7 lakh shares for Rs 68.84 crore from Seetha Kumari. The transaction price was Rs 894 per share, valuing the 2.4 percent stake deal at Rs 94.32 crore.

Non-institutional investor Seetha Kumari held 4.82 percent stake in Jindal Poly Films as of December 2025.

First Water Fund, the category III alternative investment fund managed by First Water Capital Advisors, has acquired additional 7.5 lakh shares (1.03 percent stake) in Uflex, the packaging solutions provider, for Rs 25.5 crore from K2 Family Private Trust. The transaction price was Rs 340 per share.

First Water Fund already had 3.6 percent shareholding in Uflex as of December 2025. Uflex shares soared 5.96 percent to Rs 367.80.

The action was also seen in ITC Hotels, which rose 3.52 percent to Rs 151.94. GQG Partners Inc-managed GQG Partners Emerging Markets Equity Fund has offloaded 1.28 crore shares (0.61 percent stake) in the hotel chain operator at Rs 152.67 per share, valued at Rs 196.75 crore.

As of December 2025, GQG Partners held 1.97 percent stake in ITC Hotels.

Meanwhile, ACE Infracity Developers has bought 3.89 lakh shares (0.88 percent stake) in Apollo Pipes at Rs 444.81 per share, amounting to Rs 17.34 crore.

The Nifty realty index emerged as the top sectoral gainer on Wednesday, extending its rally for the fifth consecutive session, supported by gains in key stocks such as Prestige Estates Projects, DLF among others.

The realty index rose about 7 percent during the session and has gained over 14 percent in the last five trading sessions.

Today's sharp rally followed the Reserve Bank of India’s decision to keep the key policy rate unchanged, maintaining a cautious stance amid global uncertainties.

The central bank’s six-member Monetary Policy Committee unanimously decided to hold the benchmark repo rate at 5.25 percent, citing heightened uncertainty after the West Asia conflict impacted crude prices, weakened the rupee and disrupted trade flows. The policy stance was retained at neutral.

Commenting on the policy decision, Experion Developers Vice Chairman B K Malagi said stability in interest rates supports the housing sector by maintaining affordability and enabling long-term planning.

Prestige Estates Projects was the top gainer on the index, rising around 9 percent. The stock also saw buying interest after the company reported a 10 percent increase in pre-sales to Rs 7,697 crore in the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal. According to its operational update, the company’s pre-sales rose to Rs 30,024 crore in 2025-26, marking a 76 percent increase over the preceding year.

Among other major stocks, DLF, Godrej Properties and Oberoi Realty advanced between 5 percent and 7 percent.

The RBI’s decision comes amid ongoing geopolitical tensions, including the US-Iran conflict, which has weighed on the sector, of late.

Titan rose 4 percent after reporting a strong Q4 business update, led by robust growth in its core jewellery segment and overall consumer business.

The broader market also saw strong gains, with the BSE Midcap 150 index rising 3.6 percent and the BSE SmallCap 250 index climbing 3.5 percent.

Among midcaps, Ashok Leyland, Prestige Estates and NAM India gained, while Oil India, NALCO, Lupin and Ipca Labs were among the major losers.

In the smallcap segment, Aditya Birla Retail, Gallantt Ispat and Cholamandalam Financial advanced, while Zydus Wellness, ACME Solar, FSL and JB Chemicals &amp;amp; Pharma declined.

Market breadth remained positive, with 3,625 stocks advancing and 387 declining on the BSE, indicating broad-based participation. Indian markets extended gains for a fifth consecutive session, reflecting a return of dip-buying interest after a sharp correction. The recovery followed a shift in geopolitical expectations after the United States and Iran agreed to a temporary ceasefire linked to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, the Reserve Bank of India’s Monetary Policy Committee maintained the status quo on both the policy rate and stance, in line with expectations, and signalled a continued data-dependent approach going ahead.

Several stocks remained in focus on April 8 as corporate developments, deal wins and the United States and Iran agreeing to a two-week ceasefire drove market activity.

Aviation and tourism stocks surged after the ceasefire announcement, which offered respite from turbulence linked to the Middle East conflict. IndiGo jumped 10 percent, Indian Hotels gained 6 percent, The Leela Hotels rose 5 percent, GMR Airports gained 5 percent, while Chalet Hotels, ITC Hotels and EIH Hotels advanced 3–4 percent. IRCTC gained 3.2 percent.

Larsen &amp;amp; Toubro (L&amp;amp;T) surged 7.7 percent following the ceasefire development. The stock had earlier declined due to its high exposure to the Middle East, estimated at around 37–40 percent of its order book and revenue, which had raised concerns over potential project disruptions, rising costs and employee safety amid the escalating conflict.

IT stocks remained largely flat and did not participate in the rally amid profit booking. Tech Mahindra fell 1 percent, while Infosys and TCS traded flat. Mphasis and Wipro declined around 0.5 percent. The sector had seen gains in the previous four sessions.

Swan Defence and Heavy Industries rose 5 percent after securing a new order worth Rs 1,500–3,000 crore from Energy ONE for the construction of four 92,500 DWT dual-fuel ammonia bulk carriers. These will be the first ammonia dual-fuel ships to be built in India, with the first vessel expected to be delivered in October 2029.

Prostarm Info Systems gained 9 percent after receiving a Letter of Award as a subcontractor from Solarium Green Energy for executing complete engineering, procurement and construction works worth Rs 165 crore for a 50 MWac solar PV power project in Maharashtra, excluding three years of operation and maintenance services.

Arvind Smartspaces jumped 14 percent after signing a residential high-rise project in Goregaon (West), Mumbai. The project has a topline potential of around Rs 2,400 crore, with a total saleable carpet area of approximately 0.67 million sq ft, and is being developed in partnership with Sigma Oxford Realtors.

Banking shares rallied up to 8 percent on Wednesday after the Reserve Bank kept interest rates unchanged, in line with expectations, amid hopes of a global recovery following a ceasefire in the six-week-long US/Israel-Iran conflict.

Announcing the first bi-monthly monetary policy of the current fiscal, RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra said the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) unanimously decided to retain the short-term lending rate, or repo rate, at 5.25 percent, while maintaining a neutral stance.

The Nifty Bank gained 3,062 points or 6 percent to hit an intraday high of 55,778.25, posting biggest gains in 5 years. The index extended gains for the fifth straight session, gaining more than 10 percent in the past five trading sessions.

All 14 constituents of the Bank Nifty traded in the green.

AU Small Finance Bank was the top gainer, rising over 8 percent. Union Bank of India and IndusInd Bank followed, gaining 7.82 percent and 6.33 percent, respectively.

Heavyweights HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and State Bank of India rose between 3 percent and 5 percent.

All the rate-sensitive sectors advanced, with financials leading the gains, while auto and realty stocks rose up to 7 percent.

The Nifty PSU Bank index climbed over 5 percent, while the Nifty Private Bank index gained 4.7 percent.

Meanwhile, the RBI Governor said the Iran conflict has weighed on the country’s growth and inflation outlook, adding that the central bank remains vigilant and ready to act pre-emptively on liquidity management.

The pause in rate action comes as consumer price index-based retail inflation eased closer to the RBI’s medium-term target of 4 percent, at 3.21 percent in February.

The policy decision follows a month-and-a-half-long West Asia conflict that disrupted energy supplies, pushed up crude oil prices and created fiscal and inflationary pressures for import-dependent countries like India.

This is the first monetary policy review after the government last month retained the inflation target for the RBI at 4 percent, with a margin of 2 percent on either side, for another five-year period ending March 2031.
