H G Infra Engineering

The company has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary, H G Gobindpur Tangi Highway, as a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to undertake a road construction project worth Rs 1,582.11 crore in Odisha, awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

The project involves the construction of a new six-lane, access-controlled Capital Region Ring Road (Package III) from Gobindpur (NH-55) to Tangi near Bandola Toll Plaza (NH-16) in Odisha under the Hybrid Annuity Mode.

EMS

The company has emerged as the lowest bidder for two construction projects from UP Jal Nigam (Urban), Varanasi. The estimated order values are approximately Rs 143.79 crore and Rs 64.8 crore.

Lupin

The US FDA has concluded an inspection of Lupin’s manufacturing facility in Somerset, New Jersey, USA, with the issuance of a Form 483 containing three observations. The inspection was conducted from April 13 to April 17.

Amagi Media Labs

The company has announced a strategic collaboration to integrate the Matrox ORIGIN software-defined framework into Amagi’s next-generation cloud production architecture. This partnership aims to enable highly scalable, flexible, and efficient content production workflows for broadcasters and media companies.

Cipla

The US FDA conducted an inspection at Cipla’s manufacturing facility in Goa from April 6 to April 17. The inspection included a routine current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) inspection and a Pre-Approval Inspection (PAI).

The company received two inspectional observations in Form 483.

Lemon Tree Hotels

The company has signed a license agreement for a Lemon Tree Hotel in Garudeshwar, Gujarat. The 90-room property will be managed by the company’s subsidiary, Carnation Hotels.

Uno Minda

The Board has approved the appointment of Vivek Shripad Joshi as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – LPS Domain, effective April 19.

Zee Entertainment Enterprises

The Board has approved an investment of up to Rs 116 crore in Compulsorily Convertible Debentures (CCDs) of Phantom Digital Effects on a preferential allotment basis, in one or more tranches.

Aurobindo Pharma

The company has received final approval from the US Food &amp;amp; Drug Administration (USFDA) to manufacture and market Dextromethorphan Polistirex extended-release oral suspension, 30 mg/5 mL (OTC). This product is bioequivalent and therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug (RLD), Delsym extended-release oral suspension, 30 mg/5 mL, of RB Health (US) LLC.

Dextromethorphan Polistirex provides temporary relief from cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation.

eMudhra

The company has announced the launch of emSigner for SMEs to help small and medium enterprises digitize document workflows across HR, legal, finance, and other functions.

Trent

The Board will meet on April 22 to consider the issuance of bonus shares and seek enabling approval for raising additional funds through the issue of equity shares via a rights issue or any other permissible mode.

On the same date, the company will also announce its audited (standalone and consolidated) financial results for the year ended March 2026.

Krsnaa Diagnostics

The Board has approved the appointment of Chandra Prakash Singh as Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective April 17.

Pallavi Bhatevara will cease to be a Whole-time Director effective April 25 upon completion of her tenure.

Dredging Corporation of India

The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) for the supply of fuel to its dredging fleet.

The agreement, valued at Rs 2,157.07 crore, is for a period of five years and will ensure a steady and reliable fuel supply for DCI’s operations across the country.

Bharat Heavy Electricals

BHEL has withdrawn the acceptance of the Letter of Intent from MB Power (Madhya Pradesh) for the supply of equipment (boiler, turbine, generator) for the 1x800 MW Anuppur Thermal Power Project.

Meanwhile, the company has filed a suit before the Bengaluru Commercial Court seeking recovery of dues under a contract for the supply and services related to 2x800 MW units and associated works for the Yeramaras Thermal Power Station from Raichur Power Corporation.

The claim amount stands at Rs 143.21 crore.

Bulk Deals

Bharat Wire Ropes

Steel manufacturer Lloyds Metals and Energy has acquired 20 lakh shares in Bharat Wire Ropes at Rs 193.42 per share. Additionally, Lloyds Enterprises (the investment arm of the Lloyds Group) purchased 11.46 lakh shares at Rs 215.17 per share and 5 lakh shares at Rs 215 per share, representing a 5.31 percent equity stake worth Rs 74.11 crore.

However, Resonance Opportunities Fund sold 17.02 lakh shares (2.48 percent stake) in the company at Rs 193 per share, valued at Rs 32.84 crore.

Ind-Swift Laboratories

HCP Investments sold 48 lakh shares (5.53 percent equity stake) in Ind-Swift Laboratories at Rs 134.18 per share, valued at Rs 64.4 crore. This follows an additional 1.12 percent stake sale in the previous session.

With Friday’s bulk deal, HCP Investments has offloaded a total of 6.65 percent stake over two days, compared to its 8.65 percent shareholding as of February 24, 2026.

Meanwhile, Sahastraa Advisors purchased 4.75 lakh shares at Rs 131.74 per share, and Nova Global Opportunities Fund PCC – Touchstone acquired 8.03 lakh shares at Rs 138.07 per share.

Lloyds Group companies have acquired more than 5 percent equity stake in Bharat Wire Ropes, the wire rope manufacturer, via open market transactions on April 17.

Perhaps, Bharat Wire Ropes shares seem to have reacted the transaction that reflected in trading volumes on Friday. The stock was locked in 20 percent upper circuit (for the first time since October 27, 2025) at Rs 221.96, the highest level since July 10, 2025, forming long bullish candle on the daily charts.

Steel manufacturer Lloyds Metals and Energy has acquired 20 lakh shares in Bharat Wire Ropes at Rs 193.42 per share, while Lloyds Enterprises (the investment company of the Lloyds Group) bought 11.46 lakh shares at Rs 215.17 per share and 5 lakh shares at Rs 215 per share. This represented 5.31 percent equity stake worth Rs 74.11 crore.

However, Resonance Opportunities Fund sold 17.02 lakh shares (2.48 percent stake) in the wire rope maker, at Rs 193 per share, valued at Rs 32.84 crore.

Ind-Swift Laboratories remained in action for second consecutive session as HCP Investments offloaded more stake in the company, which may have reacted in the stock prices.

Ind-Swift Labs shares tanked 9.32 percent to Rs 131.86 on the National Stock Exchange.

HCP Investments sold 48 lakh shares (5.53 percent equity stake) in the pharma company at Rs 134.18 per share, valued at Rs 64.4 crore. This is in addition to 1.12 percent shares sold in previous session.

With Friday's bulk deal, HCP Investments offloaded total 6.65 percent stake in two days against its 8.65 percent shareholding as of February 24, 2026.

However, Sahastraa Advisors bought 4.75 lakh Ind-Swift Labs shares at Rs 131.74 per share, and Nova Global Opportunities Fund PCC - Touchstone picked up 8.03 lakh shares at Rs 138.07 per share.

Meanwhile, Prazim Trading and Investment Company has bought 32 lakh units in Anzen India Energy Yield Plus Trust at Rs 125 per unit, valued at Rs 40 crore, however, Famy Steri sold 45 lakh units for Rs 56.25 crore at same price.

Lloyds Group companies buy over 5% stake in Bharat Wire Ropes, HCP Investments sells 5.5% shares in Ind-Swift Labs

Apollo Micro Systems shares surged more than 18 percent in intraday trade on Friday after the company said it has received a government licence to manufacture and proof-test defence weapon systems.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs 287 per share on the NSE, marking an 18.51 percent rise. The stock settled at Rs 283.7 per share, up 17.15 percent. It has gained nearly 22 percent over the last three sessions.

The rally followed the company’s announcement that it has been granted a licence by the Government of India, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), for the manufacture of ammunition.

In an exchange filing, the company said the lifetime licence enables it to manufacture, assemble, integrate and proof-test high-value strategic weapon systems and munitions.

The licence covers arms of calibre above 12.7 mm, including missiles, anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs), torpedoes, underwater mines, aerial bombs, rockets and loitering munitions.

Apollo Micro Systems shares surge 18% on govt licence to manufacture missiles, torpedoes among others

CRISIL shares rose over 6 percent on Friday after the company reported a 46 percent year-on-year increase in net profit to Rs 233 crore.

The stock extended gains for the third consecutive session and touched an intra-day high of Rs 4,383 per share on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), up 6.22 percent.

The company posted a net profit of Rs 233.3 crore for the period under review, compared with Rs 160 crore in the year-ago period.

Revenue from operations rose 30 percent to Rs 1,058 crore from Rs 813.2 crore a year earlier.

EBITDA increased 37.3 percent to Rs 318.6 crore as against Rs 232 crore in the corresponding period last year. The EBITDA margin stood at 30.1 percent compared with 28.5 percent a year ago.

The company also announced its first interim dividend of Rs 9 per share.

The FMCG index rose for a third session, led by Hindustan Unilever's 5% gain after price hikes. Sector demand is steady, rural recovery is seen, but supply risks persist. Retail and jewellery stocks also posted strong revenue growth amid ongoing cost pressures.

The FMCG index rose for the third straight session on Friday, advancing up to 2.5 percent. Over the past three sessions, the index has gained more than 4 percent.

Among sectoral indices, the Nifty FMCG index was the top performer, rising over 2 percent, with all its constituents trading in the green. Shares of Hindustan Unilever climbed 5 percent, making it the top gainer on the benchmark Nifty50 index. Stocks of peers Nestle India, ITC and Tata Consumer Products were up 1.5–2 percent.

Hindustan Unilever has raised prices across its soap portfolio, passing on higher raw material and packaging costs to consumers, according to a report by The Times of India. The increase ranges between Re 1 and Rs 20.

HUL will declare its March quarter results on April 30, while ITC Q4 results will be declared on April 21.

Demand conditions have improved after GST 2.0, though supply concerns due to the US-Iran war remain a key risk. According to an analysis by CNBCTV-18, this is the first quarter when companies will see the full benefit of GST-led lower-priced products in the fourth quarter.

Rural demand is showing signs of recovery, and the earlier wide gap between price and volume is now normalising. However, unseasonal rains in North and West India in March impacted summer categories.

Supply concerns persist, with Brent crude prices rising 75–80 percent month-on-month in March 2026 in rupee terms, which is expected to impact packaging costs fully in the first quarter of FY27. There are also concerns that LPG shortages could affect supply in some categories.

Price hikes of 3–4 percent are expected across the board in the first quarter of FY27, while paints and edible oils may see increases of over 6–10 percent, reported CNBC TV-18.

FMCG companies have reported strong business updates so far, indicating that demand remains steady. Godrej Consumer Products expect double-digit sales growth and high single-digit volume growth, with its shares trading over 2 percent higher at Rs 1,104.20 on the NSE.

Marico sees consecutive revenue growth and high single-digit volume growth, with its shares up 1.7 percent at Rs 757.40. Dabur India is expected to post high single-digit business growth, with its shares rising up to 4 percent.

Beyond staples, the retail sector also showed strength. Avenue Supermarts is eyeing 19 percent revenue growth, Trent 20 percent, and V-Mart may see 24.5 percent revenue growth.

In the jewellery segment, Titan saw 46 percent revenue growth, while Kalyan Jewellers has reported 65 percent revenue growth.
