The report said RedTape’s promoters, the Mirza family, have appointed consultancy firm Ernst &amp; Young as the exclusive financial adviser for the divestment of their stake, according to a document dated December that was seen by Reuters.

EY has approached firms such as Blackstone and KKR &amp; Co to gauge interest in a possible transaction, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.

Launched in 1996, RedTape operates in the footwear and apparel segment and competes with players such as Nike, Adidas, Bata India and Campus Activewear.

However, the domestic brokerage believes that the current phase represents a temporary earnings and sentiment overhang, which shall ease over the next few quarters. “From a medium-to-long-term perspective, Ixigo remains well positioned to grow faster than peers owing to its effective cross-sell of services across various apps, sharp focus on superior customer experience and robust traction for its differentiated value-added services,” it added.

JM Financial however lowered its target price for the stock to Rs 275 per share from Rs 300 per share, based on a cut in FY26–28E earnings by 4–8 percent and target P/E to 60x (from 65x). The latest target price implies an upside potential of more than 29 percent from the stock’s previous closing price.

This is expected to raise recurring employee costs for IT companies and also result in a large one-time financial impact.

"New labour codes will add to the margin pressures from slower revenue growth, AI-led business mix change and potentially higher onsite wage hikes in FY27 and FY28 due to changes in H-1B visa norms," Jefferies said in a note.

It added that a 2 percent increase in Indian employee costs could reduce FY27 earnings estimates by 2-4 percent for IT companies. Firms are likely to offset part of the impact through lower wage hikes, especially at senior levels.

IT services firm HCLTech reported an 11.2 percent decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 4,076 crore for the October-December quarter of FY26, mainly due to a one-time provision of Rs 719 crore linked to the implementation of the new labour codes.

The Noida-based company had posted a net profit of Rs 4,591 crore in the same quarter last year.

Excluding the one-time impact, HCLTech said net profit would have stood at Rs 4,795 crore. Regulatory filings showed that the impact on earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) was Rs 956 crore.
