Shazad Sheriar Rustomji sold 8.08 lakh shares (equivalent to 1.01 percent of paid-up equity) at Rs 247.65 per share, valued at Rs 20.01 crore. Total promoters' shareholding in the company was 67.9 percent as of September 2025.

However, Savita Jayesh Shah acquired 4.04 lakh shares (0.5 percent stake), and Jayeshbhai Nagindas Shah bought 4.04 lakh shares (0.5 percent stake) in Stallion India at Rs 247.65 per share.

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), the country’s largest state-owned insurer, emerged as a powerful stabilising force for domestic equities in the September 2025 quarter, stepping in with aggressive buying during a period marked by sharp market swings and heavy foreign selling.

The insurance giant made net equity purchases of more than Rs 21,700 crore during the quarter. LIC raised its stake in 76 listed companies and trimmed exposure in 81, while also adding 13 new stocks to its portfolio for the first time. Its name, however, disappeared from the shareholding pattern of 31 companies, though it remains unclear whether the insurer fully exited these counters or if its stake simply fell below the one percent reporting threshold.

Despite the buying spree, the total market value of LIC’s listed equity portfolio slipped 1.7 percent to Rs 16.09 lakh crore at the end of September, from Rs 16.36 lakh crore in June, reflecting the broad market decline. At the close of the quarter, LIC held positions across 322 listed companies.

State Bank of India emerged as LIC’s marquee bet, with the insurer picking up 6.42 crore additional shares worth Rs 5,599 crore. It also boosted stakes in Sun Pharmaceuticals and HCL Technologies, acquiring shares worth Rs 3,226 crore and Rs 2,939 crore, respectively. Other notable increases included Pidilite Industries (Rs 2,234 crore), Coal India (Rs 2,119 crore), NTPC (Rs 1,992 crore), Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (Rs 1,904 crore), Cipla (Rs 1,686 crore) and Tata Consultancy Services (Rs 1,654 crore).

On the other side, HDFC Bank saw the steepest selling by LIC, with the insurer paring holdings worth Rs 3,130 crore. This was followed by stake cuts in ICICI Bank (Rs 2,338 crore) and Larsen &amp; Toubro (Rs 2,243 crore). LIC also reduced exposure to Bharti Airtel (Rs 2,205 crore), Mahindra &amp; Mahindra (Rs 2,149 crore), Maruti Suzuki (Rs 2,052 crore) and Kotak Mahindra Bank (Rs 1,994 crore).

Among newly added stocks, BSE Ltd topped the list, with LIC purchasing 2.28 crore shares valued at Rs 4,637 crore. The insurer also took significant positions in Yes Bank (Rs 2,653 crore) and ABB India (Rs 2,424 crore). Other fresh bets included Varun Beverages (Rs 1,982 crore), Shriram Finance (Rs 1,492 crore) and Persistent Systems (Rs 819 crore).

Meanwhile, several prominent companies saw LIC’s shareholding slip off their registers. These included NMDC, where LIC previously held 48.58 crore shares valued at Rs 3,402 crore as of June, along with Coforge and Eicher Motors, whose LIC-held stakes in the previous quarter were worth about Rs 3,398 crore and Rs 2,943 crore, respectively. Other exits or stake reductions involved Apollo Hospitals (Rs 2,258 crore), TVS Motor (Rs 1,583 crore), Piramal Enterprises (Rs 1,583 crore), HDFC AMC (Rs 1,162 crore) and Dixon Technologies (Rs 972 crore).

Despite the churn, LIC’s top holdings remain anchored in India’s largest corporates. Reliance Industries continues to be its single biggest holding at Rs 1.38 lakh crore, followed by ITC at Rs 82,343 crore and Larsen &amp; Toubro at Rs 67,878 crore. SBI (Rs 66,764 crore), Infosys (Rs 64,670 crore), TCS (Rs 60,916 crore) and IDBI Bank (Rs 54,757 crore) also feature among its largest equity positions.

The September quarter proved tough for Indian markets, with geopolitical tensions and foreign portfolio outflows weighing heavily on sentiment. Authum Investment &amp; Infrastructure, which already has 15.89 percent shareholding as of September 2025, bought 18 lakh shares (equivalent to 2.6 percent of paid-up equity) at Rs 210 per share for Rs 37.8 crore.

However, Alpana Sanjay Dangi was the seller for the above 2.6 percent stake. As per the September shareholding pattern, she held 7.61 percent shares in Bharat Wire Ropes.

Meanwhile, the action was also seen in Black Box, the technology solutions and services provider, which rebounded 4.31 percent to Rs 553.5 after five-day correction amid high volumes. This was despite more than a percent stake sold by one of the investors.

Invesco Mutual Fund bought 1.52 lakh shares (0.54 percent stake) in Dredging Corporation at Rs 851.7 per share for Rs 13 crore.

The action was also seen in <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/speciality-chemicals/fineotexchemical/FC02">Fineotex Chemical</a>, which surged 7.4 percent to Rs 32.05 despite Nippon Mutual Fund sold 29.58 lakh shares at Rs 33.2 per share for Rs 9.82 crore.

Despite 1.45 percent stake sold by alternate investment funds, <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/miscellaneous/tscindia/TIL08">TSC India</a> shares soared 5 percent to Rs 63. Viney Growth Fund offloaded 1.1 lakh shares in the travel management company at Rs 62.81 per share for Rs 69.09 lakh, and Persistent Growth Fund Varsu India Growth Story Scheme 1 sold 94,000 shares at Rs 62.93 per share for Rs 59.15 lakh.

The buying was also seen in <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/diversified/exhiconeventsmediasolutions/EEM">Exhicon Events Media Solutions</a> despite alternate investment fund offloading 1.89 percent stake in the company, rising 8.36 percent to Rs 488.75 amid high volumes.

IIFL Finance shares hit a new 52-week high of Rs 559.75 apiece. Arvind Fashions shares rose nearly 10 percent to trade at Rs 550.9 apiece, while Wockhardt shares jumped around 11 percent to Rs 1,433.80 apiece.

This comes against a net loss of Rs 158 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

The firm’s revenue from operations meanwhile rose over 29 percent year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 3,305 crore during the quarter under review. It had earlier reported revenue from operations at Rs 2,556 crore for the same period last year.

Motilal Oswal kept a ‘Buy’ rating on the stock, with a target price of Rs 635 apiece. This implies an upside potential of nearly 19 percent from the stock’s previous closing price. The domestic brokerage said that the firm’s earnings beat estimates with off-book gaining traction and strong gold loan growth.

“IIFL reported an operationally mixed quarter, with strong momentum in the gold loan segment supported by robust demand and higher gold prices, while growth in other segments remained subdued. The company exhibited asset quality pressures in its micro-LAP, unsecured business loan, and MFI portfolio, resulting in credit costs continuing to remain elevated. However, it expects an improvement in housing segment growth and a moderation in credit costs in H2, aided by strengthened collection architecture and ongoing recovery efforts,” it added.

Arvind Fashions Q2 Results:

This marks a 27 percent YoY rise from the Rs 29.6 crore net profit reported in Q2 FY25. The firm’s revenue from operations meanwhile rose 11 percent YoY to Rs 1,417 crore.

The company that sells apparel under the brands Arrow, US Polo Assn, Tommy Hilfigher, Calvin Klein and more in India, said that its EBITDA meanwhile rose to Rs 200 crore.

“In Q2 FY26, we sustained our strong growth trajectory with an 11.3% increase in revenue. The recent GST reforms are expected to further boost consumer confidence and spending. As we move forward, we remain focused on investing in our marquee brands and strengthening consumer connections through our direct channel strategy, while accelerating retail expansion, driving premiumisation and scaling adjacent categories – further, strengthening our portfolio and creating long – term value for our shareholders,” said Amisha Jain, MD &amp; CEO of Arvind Fashions.

Wockhardt Q2 Results:

The shares of <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/pharmaceuticals/wockhardt/W05">Wockhardt</a> jumped more than 11 percent on November 3 after the company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 78 crore for the second quarter of the financial year 2026. This comes against a net loss of Rs 22 crore in Q2 FY25, and Rs 90 crore in Q1 FY26.

The firm’s revenue from operations meanwhile fell over 3 percent YoY to Rs 782 crore during the July-September quarter of the financial year 2026, from Rs 809 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
