After nearing a lifetime high level of Rs 1,40,465 per 10 grams, gold futures with February expiry on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) fell nearly 2 percent to Rs 1,37,646 per 10 grams.

Gold futures with April, June and August expiries also slipped into the red.

Shares of Solarworld Energy Solutions jumped over 14 percent in early trade on Monday after the company bagged a fresh order from NTPC Renewable Energy.

The stock surged 14.51 percent to hit an intraday high of Rs 303 per share on the NSE. It had opened with a gap-up of 14.51 percent and maintained upward trend.

Buying interest emerged after the company said it had received an order worth Rs 725 crore from NTPC Renewable Energy for the development of a 250 MW solar project.

However, the stock later pared some of its gains and was trading at Rs 288.10 per share, up 8.88 percent.

<h3><strong>Technical view on Bank Nifty:</strong></h3>
Nifty Bank index continued to find it difficult to gain upside traction, facing persistent supply at higher levels and swift profit-booking on even minor intraday recoveries, said SAMCO Securities. "The overall tone remained cautious and restrained, with the index largely moving within its established trading corridor," it said.

“From a technical standpoint, the index remains entrenched in a consolidation phase, with the broader range capped near 59,600 on the upside and supported around 58,600 on the downside. The continuation of a lower-high formation keeps 59,500 firmly positioned as a critical pivot for any meaningful trend reversal,” it added.

Angel One remained bullish on the index, stating that 59,500 -59,800 remain the key resistance levels to watch for. On the downside, the domestic brokerage sees the index finding support at 58,800 -58,500 levels.

The Bank Nifty is consolidating after its recent rally and is respecting key support levels, said Choice Broking. “Immediate support is seen at 58,700–58,800, while resistance is placed at 59,300–59,400. A decisive close above resistance could push the index toward 59,800–60,000, whereas a breakdown may extend consolidation,” it added.

According to Ventura's daily updates report, Bank Nifty will find its first support at 58,912, followed by 58,813 and 58,679. On the upper side, the brokerage said that the index will find resistance at 59,145, 59,279 and 59,378.

“If the trend is strong Bank Nifty will not breach (58080-57230) area. If these levels are breached one should wait for 56553-(55933-55345). Above 59478 we open for (59713 -60114- 61050—62540—63470) levels. Our view is after minor correction we have a high probability for Bank Nifty to cross 60114 and reach 61050—62540—63470 area,” Ventura said.

This comes after the precious and industrial metal saw a record bull run. "A combination of profit-taking and seemingly productive talks between Trump and Zelensky regarding a potential peace deal have put gold, silver on the back foot," said KCM Trade Chief Market Analyst Tim Waterer, as quoted by Reuters. "Rate cuts and a continuation of robust industrial appetite paired with supply shortages could have silver primed for a run towards $100 in 2026," Waterer added.

The recent surge in Hindustan Zinc shares was mostly driven by the sharp rise in silver prices. Hindustan Zinc is the largest producer of silver in India, and produces refined silver with a minimum 99.9 percent purity.

Hence, the intraday fall in silver prices may have impacted Hindustan Zinc’s share price.

The buying interest followed the company’s announcement of new project wins in the renewable energy space.

The company said it has received letters of award for setting up grid-connected solar power projects with a total capacity of 45.75 MW in Madhya Pradesh. Vikran Engineering will act as the renewable power generator and will be responsible for implementation and operation of the plants.

It also secured two other solar projects last week in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh with a combined value of Rs 2,500 crore, the company said.

Chairman and Managing Director Rakesh Markhedkar told CNBC-TV18 that the company has near-term visibility of additional potential order inflows of about Rs 2,000 crore and expects to start FY27 with an order book of Rs 5,500–5,700 crore.

The stock has gained 13.6 percent since its market debut in September.

Earlier, the firm had bagged an order worth over Rs 2,000 crore from Onix Renewables for the development of 600 MW solar projects across Maharashtra.

The project will be executed over 12 months on a turnkey EPC basis and covers design, engineering, procurement, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the solar plants.

The scope of work also includes the supply of key equipment such as solar PV modules and inverters.

Chairman and Managing Director Rakesh Markhedkar told CNBC-TV18 that the company has near-term visibility of additional potential order inflows of about Rs 2,000 crore and expects to start FY27 with an order book of Rs 5,500–5,700 crore.

The stock has gained 13.6 percent since its market debut in September.

Earlier, the firm had bagged an order worth over Rs 2,000 crore from Onix Renewables for the development of 600 MW solar projects across Maharashtra.

The project will be executed over 12 months on a turnkey EPC basis and covers design, engineering, procurement, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the solar plants.

The scope of work also includes the supply of key equipment such as solar PV modules and inverters.
