Shares of Hindalco Industries and Vedanta rose up to 3 per cent in Tuesday’s trade after global brokerage JPMorgan upgraded both stocks, citing expectations of sustained higher aluminium prices and improved profitability.

JPMorgan has raised its rating on the two companies to “overweight” from “neutral” and increased their price targets, indicating potential upside of up to 22 per cent.

Shares of Hindalco Industries climbed over 4 per cent to Rs 964.9 apiece on the NSE, extending gains for the fifth straight session. The stock has risen nearly 10 per cent during this period.

The brokerage has increased Hindalco’s price target to Rs 1,125 per share from Rs 875, implying a potential upside of about 20 per cent from its previous close, according to a CNBC-TV18 report.

JPMorgan said earnings at Hindalco’s subsidiary Novelis have likely bottomed out and expects improved profitability, supported by the restart of the Oswego plant and gains from higher scrap spreads.

Vedanta shares also advanced over 4 per cent to Rs 718.95 apiece on the NSE.

The brokerage has raised Vedanta’s price target to Rs 850 per share from Rs 680, indicating a potential upside of about 22 per cent from its previous closing level, the report said.

JPMorgan noted that Vedanta’s risk-reward has turned favourable, with its estimated enterprise value to EBITDA for FY2027 at around 4 times. It added that strength in aluminium and zinc businesses is expected to offset weakness in oil and gas volumes.

The brokerage said geopolitical tensions in West Asia could keep aluminium prices elevated for a longer period. It expects earnings growth to be driven by higher prices on the London Metal Exchange and rupee depreciation.

It also noted that the Iran conflict has led to supply disruptions due to smelter outages.

According to the brokerage, tailwinds from the commodity cycle could help ease recent debt concerns for both companies, while the recent correction in stock prices has made valuations more attractive.

Several stocks remained in focus on April 7 as corporate updates, order wins and regulatory developments drove stock-specific action in the market.

Shyam Metalics &amp;amp; Energy rose about 8 percent after reporting its fourth-quarter business update, supported by strong growth in its stainless steel segment. Stainless steel sales volumes increased 22.46 percent to 27,287 metric tons, compared with 22,282 metric tons a year earlier, while average realizations rose 4.89 percent to Rs 1.49 lakh per metric ton from Rs 1.42 lakh. Pellet sales volumes remained largely stable, declining marginally by 0.12 percent.

Deep Industries gained 5 percent after securing an order worth Rs 59 crore from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). The contract involves providing natural gas compression, dehydration and related services at ONGC’s Rajahmundry asset over a three-year period.

Godrej Consumer Products advanced about 2 percent after reiterating its growth outlook for the March quarter. The company expects double-digit sales growth and high single-digit underlying volume growth in Q4 FY26, supported by steady demand conditions, easing food inflation and normalization in trade channels. It added that EBITDA margins are likely to remain within the normative range, aided by cost efficiencies.

Titagarh Rail Systems rose 5 percent after its subsidiary received in-principle approval from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways for a brownfield expansion project in West Bengal under the government’s shipbuilding development programme.

PDS surged 10 percent after entering into a sourcing-as-a-service agreement with a US-based value retailer. The contract is expected to generate sourcing volumes of around Rs 450 crore, with scope for gradual scale-up.

ACME Solar Holdings share price down marginally in the early trade focus on April 7 following the company commissioned two different projects in the state of Rajasthan.

At 09:49am, ACME Solar Holdings was quoting at Rs 279.85, down Rs 0.80, or 0.29 percent, on the BSE.

The company through its wholly owned subsidiary i.e. ACME Sun Power, has commissioned the fourth phase of 33.333 MW/160.48 MWh out of 300 MW/1409.34 MWh capacity of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project located at Badi Sid in Rajasthan.

With this, ACME Sun Power has achieved a commissioned capacity of 133.336 MW / 641.980 MWh out of 300 MW/1409.34 MWh.

Also, its wholly owned subsidiary ACME Suryodaya has commissioned the fifth phase of 76 MW / 160.512 MWh out of 285 MW / 601.904 MWh capacity of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project located at Sanwara and Mehar Nagar at Rajasthan, on April 06, 2026.

The Commercial operation date (COD) for the stated phase–V shall be April 08, 2026.

With this, ACME Suryodaya has achieved a commissioned capacity of 247 MW / 521.652 MWh out of 285 MW / 601.904 MWh.

Deep IndustriesDeep Industries share price rose 3 percent in the opening trade on April 7 following the company received a Letter of Award from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) of Rs 59 crore.

At 09:47am, Deep Industries was quoting at Rs 459.40, up Rs 13.50, or 3.03 percent, on the BSE.

The said Letter of Award is for hiring of services of Natural Gas Compressor, Gas Dehydration &amp;amp; HC Dew Point Depression for Malleswaram of ONGC, Rajamundry Asset for a period of three years.

In the month of March, the company has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Advait Greenergy (AGPL) to execute various Green Hydrogen project tenders and contracts issued by government bodies, PSUs, private entities or any other organizations in India and abroad.

PDS

The global fashion infrastructure platform has entered into a Sourcing-as-a-Service (SaaS) contract with a leading US-based value retailer.

Under this engagement, PDS will provide support through its end-to-end sourcing capabilities, leveraging its global network across vendor management, compliance, and supply chain execution. The contract is expected to drive sourcing volumes of approximately Rs 450 crore, with the potential to scale up gradually.

Titagarh Rail Systems subsidiary receives in-principle approval for Rs 610 crore brownfield expansion at Falta under Shipbuilding Development Scheme

The company’s subsidiary, Titagarh Naval Systems, has received in-principle approval from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways for its brownfield expansion project at Falta, West Bengal, under the Government of India’s Shipbuilding Development Scheme (SbDS).

Deep Industries

The company has received a Letter of Award from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation for hiring services related to natural gas compression, gas dehydration, and hydrocarbon dew point depression at Malleswaram of ONGC’s Rajahmundry Asset for a period of three years.

The total estimated value of the award is Rs 59 crore.

Shares of Sanghi Industries have been suspended from trading effective April 6 following its amalgamation with Ambuja Cements.

CKK Retail Mart

Craft Emerging Market Fund PCC, through its sub-fund Citadel Capital Fund, sold 3.54 lakh shares (1.82 percent stake) in CKK Retail Mart for Rs 4.43 crore at a price of Rs 125 per share.

As of February 5, 2026, Citadel Capital Fund held a 6.79 percent stake in the company.

However, Jagid Vanitaben Rajendraprasad acquired 1.61 lakh shares at Rs 125.01 per share, valued at Rs 2.02 crore.

Striders Impex

Upsurge Opportunities Fund 1 sold 1.39 lakh shares (0.74 percent stake) in Striders Impex, which specialises in licensing, own-brand development, and distribution of toys and kids’ consumer merchandise, for Rs 93.26 lakh.

Longthrive Capital VCC, via Trendview Capital Fund, was also a seller in the stock, offloading 96,000 shares (0.51 percent stake) for Rs 64.32 lakh. The selling price was Rs 67 per share.

As of March 5, 2026, Upsurge Opportunities Fund held a 1.5 percent stake in Striders Impex, while Trendview Capital Fund held 3.76 percent.

However, Le Merite Exports bought 1.26 lakh shares in Striders Impex at Rs 65.45 per share, amounting to Rs 82.72 lakh.
