Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary denied reports on proposal to hike FDI limit in PSU banks in a written question in the Rajya Sabha.

Earlier in October, Reuters had reported that the Indian government is planning to allow direct foreign investment in state-run banks of up to 49 percent, more than double the current limits.
<h3><strong>Nifty PSU Bank extends decline:</strong></h3>
The Nifty PSU Bank index has extended decline for the second consecutive session. Yesterday's losses came after Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha that there is no proposal on merger or consolidation of state-owned banks before the government, denying reports.
<h3><strong>Top losers on Nifty PSU index:</strong></h3>
Indian Bank shares were the top losers on the Nifty PSU Bank index, falling more than 6 percent to trade at Rs 807.65 apiece. Punjab National Bank (<a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/banks-public-sector/punjabnationalbank/PNB05">PNB</a>) shares meanwhile fell more than 4 percent.

<a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/banks-public-sector/bankindia/BOI">Bank of India</a>, Canara Bank and Bank of Baroda shares fell over 3 percent each, while Punjab &amp; Sindh Bank (<a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/banks-public-sector/punjabsindbank/PSB">PSB</a>), Central Bank of India, Union Bank of India and UCO Bank fell more than 2 percent each.

State Bank of India (<a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/banks-public-sector/statebankindia/SBI">SBI</a>) shares fell nearly 2 percent, while Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) and Bank of Maharashtra shares were down more than 1 percent each.

Bajaj Finance on December 2 announced that it has sold around 2 percent stake in its subsidiary Bajaj Housing Finance for a total consideration of approximately Rs 1,588 crore.

The company made the announcement in the post markets hours of Tuesday.
<h3><strong>Bajaj Finance sells 2% stake in Bajaj Housing Finance:</strong></h3>
<a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/finance-nbfc/bajajfinance/BAF">Bajaj Finance</a> said that the company sold 16.66 crore shares in its subsidiary in the open market via a bulk deal at at Rs 95.3074 per share. "The sale was carried out as a step towards achieving the Minimum Public Shareholding requirements in BHFL," the firm said.

As at the end of the July-September quarter of the ongoing financial year 2026, Bajaj Finance held 88.70 percent stake in Bajaj Housing Finance, while the rest was held by the general public, according to data on the company's shareholding pattern.

UBS upgraded the rating of Asian Paints to 'Neutral' from 'Sell', and raised its target price to Rs 3,200 per share from Rs 2,100 per share. The latest target price implies an upside potential of nearly 12 percent from the stock’s previous closing price of Rs 2,867.6 per share.

The international brokerage noted that Asian Paints delivered a double-digit volume growth and better-than-expected results in the second quarter of FY26, despite weak demand environment. It added that the company had highlighted that it intends to maintain volume momentum in the second half of the ongoing FY26.

UBS sees the volume outlook for second half of FY26 to be positive, and expects market conditions to improve in near term.
<h3><strong>Asian Paints Q2 Results:</strong></h3>
Asian Paints on November 12 reported a net profit of Rs 993.59 crore for Q2 FY26. This marks a 43 percent YoY rise from the Rs 694.64 crore net profit reported in Q2 FY25. The firm's revenue from operations meanwhile rose 6 percent YoY to Rs 8,513.70 crore.
<h3><strong>Asian Paints share price history:</strong></h3>
Asian Paints shares have jumped around 18 percent in the past one month, and over 30 percent in the past six months. The stock is up more than 28 percent in 2025 so far.

Its P/E ratio currently stands at around 79.

In an exchange filing, SPARC announced that the US District Court for the District of Columbia has granted summary judgement in favour of the company in regard with the issuance of Priority Review Voucher (PRV) associated with the approval of Sezaby.

The court granted SPARC’s motion for summary judgment and held that "FDA's withholding of the PRV was contrary to law because no drug product containing phenobarbital sodium was 'previously approved' as that term is used in the statute". It has allowed 60 days to appeal against the motion.

Speaking about the development, SPARC CEO Anil Raghavan said, "We are pleased with the ruling issued today by the U.S. District Court, as it validates SPARC’s long held position on this matter."

Sezaby is a benzyl alcohol and propylene glycol free formulation of phenobarbital sodium powder for injection. It was approved by the US FDA for the treatment of neonatal seizures.
<h3><strong>SPARC share price:</strong></h3>
The sharp rise in the share price comes on the back of strong trading volumes. Nearly 2.6 crore shares have changed hands in trade so far. This is around 117 times that of the stock’s 10-day average volumes.

The shares are currently trading higher than its 200-day average. Despite today's sharp gains, SPARC shares have fallen nearly 19 percent in the past six months, and are down nearly 20 percent in 2025 so far.

The shares of Delhivery dropped in trade on December 2 after Jefferies said the increasing reliance of soon-to-be-listed Meesho on its in-house low logistics arm Valmo acts as a key downside risk for the logistics platform.

<h3><strong>Here's what Jefferies said:</strong></h3>
Jefferies in its latest note maintained an 'Underperform' rating on the stock, with a target price of Rs 390 per share. This implies a downside potential of nearly 7 percent from the stock’s previous closing price of Rs 417.6 apiece.

According to Meesho's draft IPO papers filed with SEBI, the company shipped nearly 29.6 crore orders through Valmo during the April-June quarter of the ongoing financial year, as against 18 crore orders shipped through end-to-end express parcel delivery companies like Delhivery. This is sharply different from the trend seen in earlier years, where majority of the orders were shipped through the third-party delivery companies.

Jefferies noted that Valmo now handles approximately 50 percent of Meesho's shipments at a lower cost, as against third party logistics providers such as Delhivery.

The international brokerage estimated that Meesho accounted for roughly 16 percent of Delhivery's FY25 revenue. Hence, Meesho’s shift to insourcing could weigh on Delhivery's mainstay express parcels growth, it added.

The Rs 5,421.05-crore IPO comprises a fresh issue of shares worth Rs 4,250 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of shares worth up to 10.55 crore shares by existing shareholders.
<h3><strong>Delhivery share price history:</strong></h3>
Delhivery shares have fallen nearly 12 percent in the past one month, but gained over 13 percent in the past six months. The stock is up more than 19 percent in 2025 so far.

The stock currently has a P/E ratio of around 158.
