We expect the banking index to hit the all-time high well before Nifty but may take few weeks due to ongoing market volatility. The support for the index is around 54,800 while next resistance is around 55,800 and 56,500 for the next few sessions.

Do you see continued strength in Hero MotoCorp, given the small flag breakout and the stock hitting a record high in October?

Hero MotoCorp has again shown strong move with price now moving towards 52-week highs. The recent volume action in the counter is exhibiting strong buying signals with RSI making positive divergence and price rolling on the upper band of the Bollinger (20,2) on the weekly charts. The stock is also trading well above the short-term moving averages and is expected.

A bullish flag and Pole pattern breakout is also witnessed in the counter whose targets is pegged around Rs 6,000-6,050 levels which is near-term all-time zones. The support is now placed around Rs 5,350 followed by Rs 5,180 while Rs 5,820 and Rs 6,000 are the next major supply zones.

However, another bullish candle formation signals the continuation of a "buy on dips" strategy, with 24,600 acting as a strong support, experts said.

According to Nagaraj Shetti, Senior Technical Research Analyst at HDFC Securities, the underlying short-term trend for Nifty remains positive. "The next upside target to watch is around the 25,200 level by next week. Immediate support is placed at 24,750," he said.

The weekly derivative data suggests that Nifty may see an immediate trading range of 24,800-25,000, with the broader range being 24,600-25,500.

The maximum Call open interest was observed at the 25,000 strike, followed by the 25,500 and 24,900 strikes, with the maximum Call writing at the 24,900, 25,500, and 25,100 strikes. The 24,800 strike holds the maximum Put open interest, followed by the 24,700 and 24,600 strikes, with the maximum Put writing at the 24,900, 24,800, and 24,850 strikes.

Bank Nifty

The Bank Nifty appears to be approaching both the falling resistance trendline (55,650) and the September high (55,835), which could trigger the start of a higher high-higher low structure. The banking index rallied by 241 points to 55,589 and formed a bullish candle above all key moving averages on the daily charts, signaling strength in the index.

The ratio line in the Bank Nifty/Nifty ratio chart is rising and trading above all key moving averages, indicating that the Bank Nifty is significantly outperforming the Nifty index.

The RSI is inching toward the 60 mark (currently at 58.1), suggesting strengthening bullish momentum with room for further upside. The +DI has crossed over the -DI in the ADX indicator, confirming that buyers are in control. The MACD has turned positive with a fresh bullish crossover, supported by green histogram bars, pointing toward the continuation of the uptrend.

According to Sudeep Shah, Head of Technical Research and Derivatives at SBI Securities, the overall structure suggests that Bank Nifty is regaining leadership after a phase of consolidation.

"The 55,700–55,800 zone will act as immediate resistance for the index. If the index manages to move above the 55,800 level, the pullback could extend further toward 56,300, followed by 56,600," said Sudeep Shah, Head of Technical Research and Derivatives at SBI Securities.

On the downside, the 55,200-55,100 zone will act as crucial support for the index, he added.

Meanwhile, the India VIX, which measures the expected market volatility, remained subdued for the fourth consecutive session, providing comfort to bulls. It was down by 2.21 percent to 10.06, the lowest closing level since September 19.

Nifty opened on a weak note and recovered immediately after the opening. It later shifted into a range bound action for better part of the session. Further upside was seen towards the end and finally Nifty closed at the highs.

A long bull candle was formed on the daily chart at the lows, which indicates a buy on dips opportunity in the market. This market action also confirms the formation of short-term bottom reversal around the Tuesday's low of 24600 levels.

The underlying short-term trend of Nifty is positive. The next upside target to be watched around 25200 levels by next week. Immediate support is placed at 24750.

On the downside, immediate support has shifted to the 24,600–24,750 zone. Going ahead, participants should focus on sectors demonstrating relative strength—such as metals, autos, and PSUs—while remaining selective in others.
