IndiGo shares fell to Rs 5,047.50 apiece, the lowest level seen by the stock in four sessions.

Union Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu took to X (formerly Twitter) to say that Al Hind Air and FlyExpress have received NOCs from the government to begin operations, after Shankh Air.

"Over the last one week, pleased to have met teams from new airlines aspiring to take wings in Indian skies—Shankh Air, Al Hind Air and FlyExpress," Naidu wrote in his post on X. "While Shankh Air has already got the NOC from Ministry, Al Hind Air and FlyExpress have received their NOCs in this week," he added.

However it sees margins to remain flat for <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/banks-private-sector/icicibank/ICI02">ICICI Bank</a> and IDFC First Bank, and dip slightly for Axis Bank and Yes Bank. Citi placed a 90-day positive catalyst watch on HDFC Bank and <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/banks-private-sector/kotakmahindrabank/KMB">Kotak Mahindra Bank</a>, while downgrading <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/banks-private-sector/federalbank/FB">Federal Bank</a> to "neutral" after a sharp rally.
<h3><strong>Technical view on Bank Nifty:</strong></h3>
Axis Securities remained mildly bullish on Bank Nifty, stating that the trend-deciding level for the day is 59,306. In case the index manages to trade above this level, it can rally up to 59,396-59,492-59,581 levels, the domestic brokerage said.

“However, if it trades below 59306 levels, we may witness profit booking in the market, and the index may correct up to 59210-59121-59024 levels,” it added.

“The index overall is having a consolidation period with the support maintained strong near the 58700 zone and on the upside a decisive breach above the 59800 level is necessary to establish conviction and trigger for fresh upward move in the coming days having targets of 61300 and 62700 levels expected,” said PL Capital.
<h3><strong>Bank Nifty today:</strong></h3>
Bank Nifty was trading almost flat in the green in the afternoon. Citi sees Indian banks to report modest Q3 profit growth; check key levels for Bank Nifty

Citi in its latest note has said that Indian banks are expected to report 5 percent year-on-year growth in net interest income and 4 percent upside in profit after tax in the December quarter.

<h3><strong>DRDO completes user evaluation trials of Akash-NG system:</strong></h3>
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully completed the trials, the government said in a press release on December 23. During the trials, the missiles successfully intercepted aerial targets at different range and altitude including the near-boundary-low-altitude and long range, high altitude scenarios, it added.

"Akash-NG, equipped with indigenous RF seeker and propelled by solid rocket motor, is a potent system for ensuring air defense against different types of aerial threats. All the systems &amp; sub-systems including the Multi Function Radar (MFR), Command and Control Unit, Missile Launch vehicle (MLV) etc. have been designed by various laboratories of DRDO with the help of Indian industries. The trials were witnessed by Senior Scientists of DRDO &amp; User Reps from the Indian Air Force (IAF)," the Ministry of Defence said.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised DRDO, Indian Air Force (IAF) and the entire defence industry for the successful completion of the trials. He said that the state-of-the-art missile system will further strengthen air defence capabilities of the IAF.

“Secretary DD R&amp;D and Chairman DRDO has congratulated all the teams involved in the successful flight tests of Akash NG missile system and stated that the successful completion of the UET has paved the way for induction of Akash-NG into the Indian armed forces,” the ministry said.

Akash missile (Akash-NG) system is designed by DRDO and produced by Bharat Dynamics (BDL) and Bharat Electronics (BEL). BEL shares were trading in the green with marginal gains.
<h3><strong>BDL share price history:</strong></h3>
BDL shares jumped 13 percent in the past five days, but fell more than 19 percent in the past six months. The stock has increased over 31 percent in 2025 so far.

It currently has a P/E ratio of around 94.

The shares of Bharat Dynamics (BDL) jumped nearly 5 percent on December 24 after the government announced that DRDO has successfully completed the User Evaluation Trials (UET) of Next Generation Akash missile (Akash-NG) system.
