The shares of <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/oil-drillingexploration/petronetlng/PLN">Petronet LNG</a> jumped more than 4 percent on December 4 after the company announced that it has entered into a 15-year ethane unloading, storage and handling (USH) services binding term sheet with ONGC.

The shares of the company were trading at Rs 279.80 apiece in the morning of Thursday, snapping a five-session losing streak.
<h3><strong>Petronet LNG’s agreement with ONGC:</strong></h3>
In an exchange filing released in the post market hours of December 3, the company said that Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and Petronet LNG have entered into the agreement which will be commence between October-December, 2028.

"PLL is developing ethane unloading, storage and handling (USH) facilities with ethane storage tank capacity of approx. 1,70,000 Cubic Meters at Dahej, Gujarat. PLL is also constructing a unique third jetty at Dahej which will be capable of handling Ethane and Propane in addition to LNG," the firm said.

As per the term sheet, ONGC will reserve capacity of approximately 600 KTPA at Petronet LNG's ethane storage and handling facilities at Dahej, Gujarat. PLL shall receive, store and handle ethane sourced and imported by ONGC or its subsidiary and affiliates at Dahej, Gujarat and redeliver Ethane to ONGC at the delivery point.

Petronet LNG is expected to earn a gross revenue of around Rs 5,000 crore over the total contract duration of 15 years, as part of the binding term sheet singed with ONGC. The transaction shall commence from FY 2028-2029. "It represents a significant milestone in PLL’s strategic vision to develop and offer ethane import infrastructure to third parties, thereby expanding its business portfolio beyond LNG and strengthening its position in India’s petrochemical and energy value chain," the firm said.

"PLL's under-construction unique third jetty will facilitate unloading, storage and handling ethane, propane and LNG at Dahej and will be first-of-its-kind in India which shall be made available for third-party imports. This step of PLL underscores its commitment for enabling growth of downstream industries such as Petrochemical sector through world-class import infrastructure for ethane and propane in addition to its existing LNG regasification infrastructure," it added.

Petronet LNG said that the agreement provides ONGC with assured capacity booking for the import of ethane to meet the feedstock requirements of ONGC Petro Additions Limited (OPaL), which operates one of India's largest petrochemical complexes located at Dahej, Gujarat, which includes a world-scale ethylene cracker unit using ethane as the primary feedstock.

The agreement between ONGC and Petronet LNG was signed at ONGC's corporate office in New Delhi in the presence of ONGC Chairman and MD Arun Kumar Singh and Petronet LNG MD and CEO Akshay Kumar Singh.
<h3><strong>Normura on Petronet LNG:</strong></h3>
Nomura kept a 'Buy' call on the shares of Petronet LNG, with a target price of Rs 360 per share. This implies an upside potential of nearly 34 percent from the stock’s previous closing price.

The international brokerage sees this announcement as a positive development and expects that the remaining 50 percent capacity may also be booked before the ethane USH facility comes online

Nomura estimates first-year EBITDA at Rs 140 crore, adding that 15th year EBITDA can hit Rs 275 crore without taking any margin improvement.

Petronet LNG shares have gained more than 2.5 percent in the past five days, but fell over 9 percent in the past six months. The stock is down around 20 percent from the stock’s previous closing price.

The stock has extended losses for the second consecutive session after the airline saw massive number of flight cancellations across the country.

The shares dropped to Rs 5,405 apiece in the morning, the lowest level seen by the stock in more than five months.
<h3><strong>IndiGo's flight cancellations:</strong></h3>
Around <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/india/around-200-indigo-flights-cancelled-due-to-pilot-shortage-airline-issues-apology-13709186.html">200 IndiGo flights were cancelled on Wednesday</a>, making it airline's one of the most severe operational breakdowns in recent years. A significant factor behind the chaos is a sharp shortage of crew, particularly pilots, following the introduction of revised Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) norms last month. The new rules mandate more rest hours and humane rosters, but IndiGo has been struggling to realign its network accordingly.

According to news agency PTI, at least 33 flights were cancelled at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, while over 51 flights were cancelled from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

The flight cancellations have spilled over to Thursday as well. Nearly <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/startup/indigo-chaos-continues-73-flights-cancelled-at-bengaluru-airport-13709682.html">73 flights were cancelled at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport</a>, adding to the inconvenience of passengers.

<h3><strong>IndiGo issues apology:</strong></h3>
After the significant number of cancellations, IndiGo issued an apology. “We acknowledge that IndiGo’s operations have been significantly disrupted across the network for the past two days, and we sincerely apologize to our customers for the inconvenience caused,” an IndiGo spokesperson stated.

“A multitude of unforeseen operational challenges — including minor technology glitches, schedule changes linked to the winter season, adverse weather conditions, increased congestion in the aviation system, and the implementation of updated crew rostering rules (Flight Duty Time Limitations) — had a negative compounding impact on our operations in a way that was not feasible to be anticipated,” the spokesperson said.

To contain the disruption and restore stability, the spokesperson said that IndiGo has initiated calibrated adjustments to our schedules. These measures will remain in place for the next 48 hours and will allow the airline to normalize its operations and progressively recover its punctuality across the network.
<h3><strong>DGCA orders probe:</strong></h3>
Aviation watchdog <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/india/dgca-probes-indigo-flight-disruptions-seeks-clarification-and-plan-ahead-13709696.html">DGCA said on Wednesday that it is investigating the flight disruptions </a>and has asked the airline to submit a report on the same.

“The Directorate General of Civil Aviation is currently investigating the situation and evaluating measures along with the airline, to reduce cancellations and delays, in order to minimise inconvenience being caused to passengers… Indigo has been asked to report to DGCA, Headquarters, to present the facts leading to the current situation along with plans to mitigate the ongoing delays &amp; cancellations,” it said.
<h3><strong>IndiGo share price:</strong></h3>
Earlier yesterday, IndiGo shares had fallen around 2 percent to close at Rs 5,595.50 apiece. The stock has fallen around 6 percent in the past five days, but gained over 2 percent in the past six months.

The stock is up more than 20 percent in 2025 so far. Its P/E ratio currently stands at over 32.

Both CPP Investment Board Private Holdings (4) Inc. and 2452991 Ontario previously held a 25% stake each in the National Highways Infra Trust.

The company has commissioned a 3.3 million tonnes per annum (MnTPA) clinker Line–2 at its Panna plant in Bihar. With this commissioning, the clinker capacity at the Panna plant has increased from 3.30 MnTPA to 6.60 MnTPA.

Rail Vikas Nigam

The company has received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) for a work order worth Rs 145.34 crore from Southern Railway. The order involves design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of traction substations (Scott Connected) in the Jolarpettai Junction–Salem Junction section of the Salem division of Southern Railway.

RailTel Corporation of India

The company has received a work order worth Rs 48.78 crore from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).

Mukka Proteins

The company’s joint venture with Hardik Gowda and MS Jathin Infra has received a work order worth Rs 474.89 crore from Bengaluru Solid Waste Management. The work involves the treatment and disposal of legacy leachate accumulated at the Mittaganahalli and Kannur landfill sites.

Pace Digitek

The company’s subsidiary, Lineage Power, has received an order worth Rs 99.71 crore from Advait Greenergy for LFP battery energy storage systems and other related equipment.

Petronet LNG

The company has entered into a 15-year ethane unloading, storage, and handling (USH) services binding term sheet with Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).

Petronet is developing ethane USH facilities with an ethane storage tank capacity of approximately 1,70,000 cubic meters at Dahej, Gujarat. As per the agreement, ONGC will reserve a capacity of approximately 600 KTPA at Petronet’s ethane storage and handling facilities at Dahej.

The Ministry of Petroleum &amp;amp; Natural Gas has approved the re-employment of Arun Kumar Singh as Chairman of ONGC on a contract basis for a further period of one year, effective December 7.

Nectar Lifesciences

The Board has approved a share buyback of up to Rs 81 crore at a price of Rs 27 per share. The company has fixed December 24 as the record date for determining the eligibility of shareholders for the buyback.

Indian Energy Exchange

The company recorded monthly electricity traded volume (excluding TRAS) of 11,409 MU in November, growing 17.7% YoY.

The Day-Ahead Market (DAM) volume grew by 0.3% YoY to 5,668 MU, while the Real-Time Electricity Market (RTM) volume increased 40.2% to 4,233 MU in November.

InterGlobe Aviation

IndiGo said its operations have been significantly disrupted across the network for the past two days.

National Highways Infra Trust units price increased by 1.53 percent on Wednesday to close at Rs 149.75 on the NSE.

Nitro Asia Holdings II has bought 19.56 crore units (equivalent to 10.1 percent of total outstanding units) in the infrastructure investment trust for Rs 2,905.2 crore. The buying price for the units was Rs 148.53 per unit.

The National Highways Infra Trust was set up by the National Highways Authority of India in October 2020 to invest in national highway projects. National Highways Infra Investment Managers is the investment manager to the infrastructure investment trust.
