Promoter Docon Technologies has reduced its stake in Thyrocare Technologies, the diagnostic services provider, by little more than 10 percent via open market transactions on October 24, of which 7.9 percent shares were bought by asset management companies.

<a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/hospitalsmedical-services/thyrocaretechnologies/TT16">Thyrocare</a> shares closed 1.13 percent higher at Rs 1,266.1 on the National Stock Exchange with high volumes, sustaining above all key moving averages.

Docon Technologies, which held 71.06 percent stake in the company as of September 2025, has offloaded 53.3 lakh shares (10.06 percent of paid-up equity) at Rs 1,252.03 per share for Rs 667.7 crore.

ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, HSBC Mutual Fund Midcap Fund, HDFC Mutual Fund, Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund, and Eastspring Investments India Consumer Equity Open acquired 42.1 lakh shares (7.9 percent stake) at Rs 1,252 per share for Rs 527.2 crore.

ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund through ICICI Prudential Pharma Healthcare and Diagnostics (P.H.D) Fund already held 2.2 percent stake in Thyrocare. With additional buying of 3.3 percent shares on Friday, its total shareholding may be reached to 5.5 percent.

Meanwhile, black galaxy granite producer <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/miscellaneous/midwest/ML12">Midwest </a>also saw heavy action, with shares rallying 7 percent to Rs 1,140.5 on its market debut today. The company is valued at Rs 4,126 crore.

Goldman Sachs Funds - Goldman Sachs India Equity Portfolio acquired 4.34 lakh shares (1.2 percent stake) in Midwest at Rs 1,152.56 per share for Rs 50.05 crore.

The firm's revenue from operations meanwhile fell nearly 15 percent YoY to Rs 132 crore in Q2 FY26, from Rs 155 crore in Q2 FY25. Earnings per share (EPS) also reduced to Rs 2.80 during the quarter under review, from Rs 3.34 in the same period last year.

Shanthi Gears said its booked orders during the quarter rose 7 percent to Rs 138 crore. Unexecuted order book as on September 30 stood at Rs 254 crore. It achieved return on average invested capital (ROIC) of 46 percent in Q2 FY26, and generated free cash flow of Rs 12.68 crore during the period.

Elara Capital has maintained <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/lifehealth-insurance/sbilifeinsurancecompany/SLI03">SBI Life</a> as its preferred pick in the life insurance space.

Emkay Global said annual premium equivalent (APE) growth could remain muted at around 4 percent in Q2 due to festive season-related impact and slower momentum in unit-linked insurance plans. Even so, the firm expects healthy VNB margins driven by a higher contribution from non-par products.

Both Emkay Global and Prabhudas Lilladher anticipate limited impact from goods and services tax-related changes, citing SBI Life’s cost advantage.

According to market data, the stock carries an average “buy” rating from 33 analysts, with a median price target of Rs 2,140.

The private lender is set to release its results for the July-September quarter of the ongoing financial year 2026 tomorrow (October 25). <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/banks-private-sector/axisbank/AB16">Axis Bank</a>, <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/banks-private-sector/hdfcbank/HDF01">HDFC Bank</a>, AU Small Finance Bank and Punjab National Bank (<a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/banks-public-sector/punjabnationalbank/PNB05">PNB</a>) shares followed, dropping more than 1 percent each.

'Trend deciding level for the day is 58,202'

The index had hit all-time high levels buoyed by better-than-expected Q2 results by some of the major players. Axis Securities had said that the trend deciding level for the day is 58,202. "If Bank Nifty trades above this level, it may rally up to 58,453-58,828-59,079 levels. However, if it trades below 58,202 levels, we may witness profit booking in the market, and the index may correct up to 57,827-57,576-57,201 levels," it said.

As the index has now dropped below the trend deciding level as well as the first support zone, the next key levels to watch out for are 57,576 and 57,201, according to Axis Securities.

PL Capital said that the near-term support at the previous consolidation zone was seen at the 57,300 level, which needs to be sustained. “On the upside, we can expect the next targets of the 59,700 and 60,500 levels in the coming days,” it added.

'Sustained move above 58,400 could open the door for a further rally'

"The index is likely to trade sideways to positive, with strong support between 57,700–57,900 and resistance at 58,200–58,400. A sustained move above 58,400 could open the door for a further rally, while a break below 57,830 may invite mild profit booking," said Choice Broking.

Nifty Private Bank index is down more than 0.8 percent, while Nifty PSU Bank index is down 0.74 percent.

Bank Nifty sees profit booking, trades below 58,000; Kotak Mahindra, Axis, HDFC Bank lead losses

The Bank Nifty index dropped below the 58,000-mark on October 24 as investors continued to book profits at elevated levels. This comes a day after the index hit an all-time high of 58,577.50 on October 23.
