Fertiliser shares on Monday settled up to 8 percent higher after the government increased natural gas supply to fertiliser units amid the ongoing West Asia crisis.

The government has raised gas supply to fertiliser plants and key sectors to 90 percent from the existing 70–75 percent, effective April 6, 2026, as part of efforts to ensure energy stability in view of the evolving situation in West Asia.

The increase, supported by available domestic inventory and scheduled LNG cargo arrivals, is aimed at ensuring steady feedstock supply to urea plants ahead of key agricultural demand.

In addition, gas supply to other industrial and commercial sectors, including those linked to City Gas Distribution (CGD) networks, has been increased by a further 10 percent from April 6.

Shares of fertiliser companies rose following the announcement.

Teesta Agro Industries led the rally, surging 8.29 percent to an intraday high of Rs 110 per share on the BSE.

Rama Phosphates gained 5 percent, while Aries Agro rose 4 percent.

Among other stocks, Zuari Agro Chemicals, Madras Fertilizers and Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers ended around 2 percent higher. Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore (FACT) also rose about 2 percent.

The move is expected to support fertiliser production and help maintain industrial activity at a time when global energy markets remain volatile due to geopolitical tensions.

Fertiliser plants are among the largest consumers of natural gas in India, and higher supply levels are likely to support urea output and supply chains.

Rising energy costs are seen increasing fertiliser production expenses, which may add to broader inflationary pressures.

Trent share price rose up to 7 percent in Monday's trading session as the fast-fashion retailer's standalone revenue rose 20 percent in the March quarter, picking up from the slowest growth in four years recorded earlier in fiscal 2026.

Shares of Trent jumped 6.8 percent to an intraday high of Rs 3,791.90 per share on the NSE. The stock opened gap-up with a gain of 2.37 percent. The stock has been gaining for the last three trading sessions and is up nearly 14 percent in the period.

The sharp upmove was seen after the company’s standalone revenue from operations rose 20 percent year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 4,937 crore in Q4FY26, compared to Rs 4,106 crore in the year-ago period. For the full year, revenue grew 18 percent YoY to Rs 19,701 crore, up from Rs 16,668 crore in FY25.

Revenue from sale of merchandise, excluding other operating income, increased 21 percent YoY in the quarter and 19 percent for the full year ended March 2026.

The September tax cuts also boosted consumer spending, putting more disposable income in the hands of consumers.

Trent has been on a store-opening spree over the last few quarters, with its store count climbing to 1,286 by March 31, compared with about 1,043 a year earlier.

The Tata group firm, which runs youth-focused fashion chains Zudio and Westside, also plans to open more stores in smaller cities and towns in the world's most-populous country, betting on demand growth outside the key metro markets.

Indian equities extended their downward trend on April 6, with stock-specific movements dominating trade amid a broadly range-bound market. V-Mart Retail gained over 9 percent, extending its rally for the third straight session following a strong Q4 business update. The company reported revenue of Rs 971 crore for the quarter, up from Rs 780 crore a year earlier, reflecting a 24 percent year-on-year growth. Same-store sales growth stood at 12 percent for the quarter.

Trent Ltd rose about 5 percent after reporting its Q4FY26 and full-year business update. The company’s standalone revenue from operations increased 20 percent year-on-year to Rs 4,937 crore in Q4FY26, compared with Rs 4,106 crore a year earlier. For the full year, revenue rose 18 percent to Rs 19,701 crore from Rs 16,668 crore in FY25.

Shares of FSN E-Commerce Ventures, the parent company of Nykaa, gained as much as 3.9 percent, marking their biggest rise since February 6. The company said it expects fourth-quarter net revenue growth in the late twenties, while full-year growth is seen at the upper end of the mid-twenties.

Its beauty segment is expected to deliver growth in the late twenties across GMV, net sales value, and net revenue, while the fashion segment saw acceleration with GMV growth in the late twenties and net sales value growth in the early forties. The company added a record 37 stores in the fourth quarter, taking its total store count to 313 as of March 31.

Shares of Rail Vikas Nigam declined more than 2 percent in the opening trade on April 6 despite the company secured an order worth ₹242.49 crore from South Central Railway.

At 09:19am, Rail Vikas Nigam was quoting at Rs 254.80, down Rs 6.05, or 2.32 percent, on the BSE.

According to the company’s exchange filing, it has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of OHE (Overhead Equipment) upgradation. The project involves upgrading the existing 1x25 kV system to a 2x25 kV AT feeding system, along with feeder and earthing works in the Ongole (OGL) to Gudur (GDR) section of the Vijayawada Division.

The total project covers 154 RKM / 462 TKM and is scheduled to be completed within 24 months.

Earlier in March, the company had also received an LoA worth ₹95.27 crore from National Mineral Development Corporation for refurbishment and maintenance works at its Chhattisgarh facilities.

The shares have declined 28% over the past three months.

In the previous trading session, the stock closed 5.19% higher at ₹262.60, gaining ₹12.95. The stock has touched a 52-week high of ₹448 (May 20, 2025) and a 52-week low of ₹248.25 (March 30, 2026). It is currently trading 41.77% below its 52-week high and 5.08% above its 52-week low.

The company’s market capitalisation stands at ₹54,387.75 crore.

Rail Vikas Nigam wins Rs 242 crore order; share price trade lower

Shares of G R Infraprojects rose in the early trade on April 6 after the company signed an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) agreement worth ₹1,898 crore with West Central Railway.

At 09:21am, G R Infraprojects was quoting at Rs 847.80, up Rs 9.35, or 1.12 percent, on the BSE.

The contract involves the construction of a new railway line between Bahari and Gondawali stations in Madhya Pradesh. The project is scheduled to be completed within 900 days from the appointed date.

Last month, the company secured a ₹1,453.57 crore Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the National Highways Authority of India for upgrading a two-lane carriageway to a four-lane divided highway on NH-56 in Gujarat under the hybrid annuity mode.

Additionally, it received a ₹413.37 crore notification of award from NTPC Limited for the implementation of battery energy storage systems (BESS) at the Mouda Super Thermal Power Station.
