Zomato on Monday said it has launched a dedicated AI-powered hotline (89200 89200) to simplify the onboarding process for delivery partners, Business Standard reported. According to a company statement quoted by the site, “the call initiates an AI-enabled WhatsApp journey where onboarding and background verification unfold in minutes”.

This comes a year after the company launched an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered customer support platform for businesses across the globe. “Introducing Nugget – an AI-native, no-code customer support platform. Nugget helps scale support effortlessly – highly customizable, low-cost, no developer team needed. No rigid workflows, just seamless automation,” Goyal said in a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
<h3><strong>Domestic MFs hike holdings in new age companies, says report:</strong></h3>
Additionally, a report by Economic Times claimed that domestic mutual funds held shares worth around Rs 1.77 lakh crore in around 12 new-age companies at the end of 2025. This is around double of the Rs 95,000 crore shares held in the same time last year, the report added.

According to the publication, Eternal and Swiggy are among the key names in which these mutual fund houses accumulated significant stakes.

Eternal, which is part of the benchmark Nifty 50 index, accounted for more than 40 percent of total mutual fund holdings in new-age companies, the report said, adding that these funds were major buyers in Swiggy’s Ra 10,000-crore share sale in December last year.
<h3><strong>Block deals:</strong></h3>
Eternal and Swiggy shares also saw several block deals being executed on the markets today, further pushing their shares higher up.

Nearly 1.19 crore shares of Eternal changed hands in multiple block deals, according to official market data. At the previous closing price of Rs 288.85 apiece, these shares would be cumulatively worth more than Rs 344 crore.

Swiggy meanwhile saw more than 21.60 lakh shares changing hands in six large block deals. At the previous closing price of Rs 333.70 apiece, these shares would be cumulatively worth around Rs 72.08 crore.

The stock opened with a gap-up gain of 6.46 percent and advanced to an intraday high of Rs 40.68 per share on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), marking a 20 percent jump, which is also its upper circuit limit.

The stock has been on an upward trajectory for the past two trading sessions.

At around 12:30 pm, the shares pared some gains and were trading at Rs 37.50 per share, still up 10.62 percent.

The sharp rise came after Agrawal purchased 20,00,000 shares at Rs 33 per share on Monday, amounting to a total investment of Rs 6.6 crore, as per bulk deal data.

According to BSE shareholding data, Agrawal held 20 lakh shares, or a 1.88 percent stake, in the company as of December 31, 2025.

Bengaluru-based Tracxn Technologies operates on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model and provides market intelligence on private companies.

<h3><strong>Return of risk-on sentiment:</strong></h3>
After several sessions of underperformance, Indian stock markets are rising amid the return of the risk-on sentiment. That is why, equities are outperforming safe-haven assets like gold and silver. “Market sentiment stayed risk-on, supported by encouraging signals from the trade deal and renewed FII inflows, even as investors tracked developments from the ongoing earnings season,” said Bajaj Broking.

The sentiment was uplifted after the India and US announced updates regarding their much-awaited trade deal. The bilateral trade deal effectively reduces US tariffs on Indian exports to 18 percent from 50 percent.

"Out of friendship and respect for Prime Minister Modi and, as per his request, effective immediately, we agreed to a Trade Deal between the United States and India, whereby the United States will charge a reduced Reciprocal Tariff, lowering it from 25 percent to 18 percent," Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social after a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

With the US trade deal now concluded, a prolonged source of uncertainty for markets is finally behind us, said N. Arunagiri, CEO, TrustLine Holdings. “That overhang had weighed on sentiment and risk appetite for an extended period, and its resolution provides an important near-term relief. However, what matters more for markets from here is what comes after the deal,” the analyst said.

Rupee's long-overdue retracement and expected meaningful earnings recovery in FY27, along with structural reforms create a strong and supportive backdrop for markets, said Arunagiri. “From this perspective, the medium-term setup looks increasingly constructive, and we believe these are very positive times for the markets especially for broader small and midcaps,” the analyst added.
<h3><strong>FII buying:</strong></h3>
Foreign investors remained net buyers on February 9, purchasing net equities worth Rs 2,254.64 crore on Monday. This comes after prolonged FII selling which was seen earlier and kept markets under pressure for the entire 2025.

Between January 28 and February 6, foreign institutional investors were net buyers in six sessions, while remaining marginal sellers in three sessions. "An important factor that changed the market sentiment was the appreciation in rupee from a record low...to the dollar...This has the potential to trigger more FII inflows into India. However, a lot will depend on how the AI trade pans out," said VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Investments.
<h3><strong>Value-buying:</strong></h3>
The sharp rise in broader markets may have also been driven by value-buying after months of underperformance. The Nifty Smallcap 100 index has fallen around 4 percent in the past three months, while the Nifty Midcap 100 index rose around 1 percent.

At the same time, benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty 50 gained around 2 percent during the same period.

"This mechanism will provide that a to-be-specified volume of apparel and textile imports from Bangladesh can enter the United States at this reduced tariff rate, but this volume shall be determined in relation to the quantity of exports of textiles, e.g. U.S. produced cotton and man-made fiber textile inputs, from the United States," a joint statement read.

According to the recently announced trade framework between US and India, the former will effectively reduce the reciprocal tariff on Indian textile exports to 18 percent from the current 50 percent. While Indian textile exporters will enjoy a lower tariff rate than current levels, they will face strong competition as Bangladeshi peers will enjoy zero reciprocal tariffs on their textile exports to the US.

The overall US tariff rate on Bangladeshi exports meanwhile has been reduced to 19 percent, slightly higher than India's 18 percent rate.

“The Agreement will provide U.S. and Bangladeshi exporters unprecedented access to each other’s respective markets.  The Agreement will build upon our longstanding economic relationship,” the two countries said in their joint statement.
<h3><strong>India-US trade deal framework:</strong></h3>
India and US on February 6 released a framework for an interim agreement regarding reciprocal and mutually beneficial trade (Interim Agreement). "Today's framework reaffirms the countries’ commitment to the broader U.S.-India Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) negotiations, launched by President Donald J. Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 13, 2025, which will include additional market access commitments and support more resilient supply chains," the countries said in a joint statement.

India and US said that their interim agreement will represent a "historic milestone" in their partnership, which would demonstrate a common commitment to reciprocal and balanced trade based on mutual interests and concrete outcomes.

According to the framework, US agreed to reduce its tariffs on Indian exports of textile and apparel, leather and footwear, plastic and rubber, organic chemicals, home décor, artisanal products, and certain machinery to 18 percent, subject to the successful conclusion of the Interim Agreement.

Gokaldas Exports, KPR Mill, other textile stocks drop up to 5% as US agrees to zero tariff on some Bangladesh clothing goods

The shares of Indian textile companies dropped in trade on February 10 after US and Bangladesh announced the conclusion of their agreement on reciprocal trade. This comes after the stocks sharply surged earlier following the announcement of India-US trade framework.

Gokaldas Exports shares plunged more than 5 percent to trade at Rs 796.45 apiece, while KPR Mill and Arvind shares dropped over 4 percent. Pearl Global Industries shares fell more than 3.5 percent.
Why are textile stocks falling today?
