Despite stake buy, <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/hospitalhealthcare-services/mediassisthealthcareservices/MAH01">Medi Assist</a> shares fell sharply by 6.87 percent to Rs 437 amid high volumes on the NSE.

HDFC Mutual Fund acquired 3.81 lakh shares (equivalent to 0.51 percent of paid-up equity) in Medi Assist that acts as a third-party administrator for managing employee health insurance for companies for Rs 16.5 crore at Rs 433 per share.

As of September 2025, HDFC Large and Mid Cap Fund already held 7.53 percent stake in Medi Assist.

Meanwhile, HDFC Mutual Fund also acquired additional 77.67 lakh units (0.85 percent stake) in <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/power-generationdistribution/powergridinfrastructureinvestmenttrust/PII04">Powergrid Infrastructure Investment Trust</a> for Rs 66.41 crore at Rs 85.5 per unit. The fund house already owned 3.94 percent stake in the infrastructure investment trust as of September 2025.

Further, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund bought 3.84 crore units (4.22 percent stake) in the infrastructure investment trust for Rs 328.45 crore at the same price.

However, CPP Investment Board Private Holdings (4) Inc, owned by Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, exited Powergrid InvIT by selling entire 9.18 crore units (10.09 percent stake) for Rs 786 crore at Rs 85.58 per unit.

Powergrid InvIT saw significant gap-down on Friday, closing 3.85 percent lower at Rs 89.16 amid strong volumes.

The shares of the popular air conditioner-maker dropped to Rs 1,364.50 apiece, the lowest level seen by the stock in four sessions. The shares later pared some losses to close 2 percent lower at Rs 1,372.60 apiece.

After the company's analyst group meeting, HDFC Securities noted that demand will likely stay subdued in Q3, with cost pressure rising. The domestic brokerage expects the company's growth to remain subdued in FY26, but a pick-up is expected from FY27. It has cut its FY26 revenue estimates by 3-4 percent.

Antique Stock Broking said that elevated channel inventory continues to act as near-term overhang. Nirmal Bang meanwhile said that the company’s management indicated volume pressures are easing, and operations will likely normalise from Q4.

Voltas is “getting comfortable, not cosy”, said domestic brokerage JM Financial. “The key message from Voltas’ investor call was that while the situation is clearly improving, it is not yet time to rejoice. Management commentary indicated that while the industry could see a decline in 3Q, the decline should be &lt; 2Q, on account of pre-buying from the channel due to the energy rating changes w.e.f. 1 st Jan’26,” the domestic brokerage said.

An increase in input costs, a depreciating rupee and continued channel support could dampen margin through Q3, it added.

JM Financial increased its target price for the stock to Rs 1,450 per share from Rs 1,430 per share, while maintaining its ‘Add’ rating. The latest target price implies a downside potential of more than 3 percent from the stock’s previous closing price of Rs 1401.7 per share.

Motilal Oswal Financial Services kept a 'Neutral' rating on the stock, with a target price of Rs 1,390 per share which implies a downside potential of around 1 percent from the stock's previous closing price.

"Voltas highlighted that RAC volume remained under pressure in 3QFY26 due to higher channel inventory (~45 days) and a strong winter, though the YoY decline has moderated and there are multiple levers (GST rate cut increase affordability, energy label changes) to drive demand going forward," it added.

Elara Capital kept an ‘Accumulate’ rating on the stock, with a target price of Rs 1,440 per share. This implies an upside potential of nearly 3 percent from the stock’s previous closing price.

The domestic brokerage remains cautious on the company’s near-term outlook. “Revenue from Voltas’ room air conditioner (RAC) segment may rise QoQ, led by pre -buying in December, given a sharp rise in commodity prices (copper price up 27% YoY) and change in Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) norms from January. However, overall RAC revenue may fall, and margins strained by lower volumes, higher commodity prices and rupee depreciation,” it added.
<h3><strong>Voltas share price history:</strong></h3>
Voltas shares have fallen more than 2 percent in the past one month, and around 25 percent in 2025 so far. This comes after the stock gained more than 61 percent in the past three years.

The rise in the share prices pushed the <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/indian-indices/nifty-it-19.html">Nifty IT index</a> more than 1 percent higher to hit its day’s high at 39,054.35. The index then pared some gains to trade 0.17 percent higher at 38,700, as seen at 2.40 pm.
<h3><strong>Cooling US inflation signals more Fed rate cuts:</strong></h3>
US consumer prices rose less than expected in the year ending on November. US consumer prices rose 2.7 percent year-on-year in November, slowing from a 3 percent increase in the 12 months through September.

The moderation in the in the US Consumer Price Index, reported by the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics on Thursday, has reignited hopes for more rate cuts by the US Federal Reserve in the near future.

Lower interest rates in the US make emerging market equities like India attractive for foreign portfolio investors as Treasury yields and dollar typically decline.

A rate cut in the US is also expected to increase the discretionary spending limit, which in turn benefits IT companies which derive a significant portion of their revenue from the North American market.
<h3><strong>Strong Accenture results:</strong></h3>
Accenture released <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/information-technology/accenture-beats-q1-revenue-forecast-to-discontinue-ai-revenue-reporting-13732674.html">better-than-expected first-quarter results</a> on Thursday, driven by artificial intelligence (AI) solutions that help clients integrate the technology to enhance productivity.

The IT consulting firm reported revenue of $18.74 billion, compared with analysts' average estimate of $18.52 billion, according to data compiled by LSEG. New bookings during the quarter increased 12 percent to $20.9 billion, with consulting bookings of $9.88 billion and managed services bookings of $11.06 billion.

The US-based IT giant's management, in a post-earnings investor call Thursday, highlighted that the pace of overall and discretionary spending was at the same level as the previous year.
<h3><strong>Jefferies on IT sector:</strong></h3>
Jefferies has warned of downside risk to Indian IT stocks after Accenture guided for 1.5-4.5 percent organic growth in FY26. The international brokerage said that the firm’s "steady-to-moderating" outlook signals limited discretionary spending despite GenAI project pickup.

It noted that Accenture has retained 2-5 percent year-on-year (YoY) revenue growth guidance after strong Q1, suggesting demand uncertainty. Historically, lack of upward revision post-Q1 has preceded downward revisions for Accenture, Jefferies added.

The international brokerage expects limited PE expansion for Indian IT firms and reiterated its selective stance on the sector.

The subsidiary will offer auto insurance products in partnership with multiple insurers and cater to Ather’s customers across the country. The company said the move will help streamline its insurance offerings and improve the overall ownership experience.

By bringing insurance distribution in-house, Ather aims to work with several insurance partners and develop products tailored for electric vehicles, while also simplifying renewals and enhancing customer engagement.

"This is a measured but deliberate step, focused on strengthening the ownership experience while building a capability that complements our core offering and scales with the business," Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy, said.

Additionally, CLSA said that the government may consider a partial relief of AGR dues for the telco.

The shares of Vodafone Idea rose to Rs 11.99 apiece, extending gains for the second consecutive session. The stock has risen over 49 percent in 2025 so far.
<h3><strong>Vodafone Idea Telecom Infrastructure raises Rs 3,300 crore through NCDs:</strong></h3>
Vodafone Idea Telecom Infrastructure Limited (VITIL), a subsidiary of the company, <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/markets/vodafone-idea-subsidiary-raises-rs-3-300-crore-via-issuance-of-ncds-13732752.html">successfully raised Rs 3,300 crore</a> through the issuance of unlisted, unrated, secured Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs).

The fundraise saw strong interest exceeding the NCD issuance, from a diversified group of marquee investors, including large Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs), Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) and Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), said the telco.

The proceeds from this issuance will be utilised by VITIL to repay its payment obligations to Vi. This will enable Vi to bolster its capex and support business growth, the telecom firm said in a stock exchange filing.
<h3><strong>CLSA on Vodafone Idea:</strong></h3>
The government is likely to consider a partial waiver of interest, penalties and interest on penalties that make the majority of the telco's adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues, CLSA was quoted as saying by Business Standard.

"The government is working on reassessment of Vodafone Idea’s AGR dues and reportedly a relief package will likely be announced by year-end. Vi’s aggregate AGR dues stood at an estimated ~780bn/US$8.7bn in Q2FY26. We believe the government will likely consider waiver of interest (at least in part) and penalties and interest on penalties that make up a bulk of the AGR dues," the newspaper further quoted the brokerage. The relief on the long pending AGR dues could provide Vi will relief of $8 billion, it added.

Vodafone Idea has been struggling with dues, owing about Rs 83,400 crore in adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues, with annual payments of nearly Rs 18,000 crore scheduled from March 2025.

The debt-laden operator has repeatedly warned it cannot survive without funding support, as banks remain wary of lending given its financial stress. Vi employs over 18,000 people and has nearly 198 million subscribers.

Few weeks ago, the Supreme Court allowed the government to comprehensively reassess and reconcile all dues of the debt-ridden telecom company, including interest and penalties, up to FY17. This was seen as a major relief for the financially stressed operator.

In September, Vodafone Idea had sought a waiver of penalty and interest on an AGR demand worth Rs 9,450 crore raised by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), arguing that much of it pertained to the pre-FY17 period already settled by the apex court in 2020. Out of this amount, Rs 2,774 crore relates to post-merger liabilities of Vodafone Idea, while Rs 5,675 crore pertains to pre-merger dues of the Vodafone Group.

The government became the largest shareholder in Vodafone Idea in March this year after converting dues worth Rs 36,950 crore into equity, taking its stake to nearly 49 percent. Earlier, in 2023, the Centre had picked up a 33 percent stake in lieu of statutory dues exceeding Rs 16,000 crore.
<h3><strong>Vodafone Idea share price history:</strong></h3>
After hitting a 52-week low of Rs 6.12 per share in August this year, the stock rapidly nearly doubled to its 52-week high of Rs 12.03 per share on December 15. The shares have gained nearly 12 percent in the past one month.

Vodafone Idea shares gained around 56 percent in the past one year, and over 43 percent in the past three years.

The shares of Vodafone Idea (Vi) jumped more than 6 percent on December 19 after the company announced that its subsidiary has raised Rs 3,300 crore through the issuance of Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs). Additionally, CLSA said that the government may consider a partial relief of AGR dues for the telco.

The shares of Vodafone Idea rose to Rs 11.99 apiece, extending gains for the second consecutive session. The stock has risen over 49 percent in 2025 so far.
Vodafone Idea Telecom Infrastructure raises Rs 3,300 crore through NCDs:
Vodafone Idea Telecom Infrastructure Limited (VITIL), a subsidiary of the company, successfully raised Rs 3,300 crore through the issuance of unlisted, unrated, secured Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs).

The fundraise saw strong interest exceeding the NCD issuance, from a diversified group of marquee investors, including large Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs), Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) and Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), said the telco.

The proceeds from this issuance will be utilised by VITIL to repay its payment obligations to Vi. This will enable Vi to bolster its capex and support business growth, the telecom firm said in a stock exchange filing.
CLSA on Vodafone Idea:
The government is likely to consider a partial waiver of interest, penalties and interest on penalties that make the majority of the telco's adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues, CLSA was quoted as saying by Business Standard.

&quot;The government is working on reassessment of Vodafone Idea’s AGR dues and reportedly a relief package will likely be announced by year-end. Vi’s aggregate AGR dues stood at an estimated ~780bn/US$8.7bn in Q2FY26. We believe the government will likely consider waiver of interest (at least in part) and penalties and interest on penalties that make up a bulk of the AGR dues,&quot; the newspaper further quoted the brokerage. The relief on the long pending AGR dues could provide Vi will relief of $8 billion, it added.

Vodafone Idea has been struggling with dues, owing about Rs 83,400 crore in adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues, with annual payments of nearly Rs 18,000 crore scheduled from March 2025.

The debt-laden operator has repeatedly warned it cannot survive without funding support, as banks remain wary of lending given its financial stress. Vi employs over 18,000 people and has nearly 198 million subscribers.

Few weeks ago, the Supreme Court allowed the government to comprehensively reassess and reconcile all dues of the debt-ridden telecom company, including interest and penalties, up to FY17. This was seen as a major relief for the financially stressed operator.

In September, Vodafone Idea had sought a waiver of penalty and interest on an AGR demand worth Rs 9,450 crore raised by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), arguing that much of it pertained to the pre-FY17 period already settled by the apex court in 2020. Out of this amount, Rs 2,774 crore relates to post-merger liabilities of Vodafone Idea, while Rs 5,675 crore pertains to pre-merger dues of the Vodafone Group.

The government became the largest shareholder in Vodafone Idea in March this year after converting dues worth Rs 36,950 crore into equity, taking its stake to nearly 49 percent. Earlier, in 2023, the Centre had picked up a 33 percent stake in lieu of statutory dues exceeding Rs 16,000 crore.
Vodafone Idea share price history:
After hitting a 52-week low of Rs 6.12 per share in August this year, the stock rapidly nearly doubled to its 52-week high of Rs 12.03 per share on December 15. The shares have gained nearly 12 percent in the past one month.

Vodafone Idea shares gained around 56 percent in the past one year, and over 43 percent in the past three years.
