Analysts have suggested the investment strategy investors should take with the newly-listed stock.

The shares of the company made a muted debut on stock markets earlier today, listing flat at the IPO price at Rs 217 apiece on NSE. The stock then jumped nearly 5 percent to hit an intraday high of Rs 227.71 apiece.

The company currently has a market capitalization of more than Rs 15,250 crore.

Emmvee Photovoltaic Power is India's second-biggest pure-play integrated solar PV module and cell maker renowned for reliable products with advanced technology, Master Capital Services noted. It added that the company has an early mover advantage in high-efficiency TOPCon cells, integrated operations across the value chain supportive of productivity and sustainability, and strong client relationships which underpin a growing order book.

'Keep an eye on Q3 results':

The brokerage advised investors to keep an eye on Q3 FY26 results for sustained margins amid competitive pressures on pricing. It added that liquidity may build up gradually and therefore, the stock will fit into growth-oriented portfolios seeking solar exposure.

Kalp Jain, Research Analyst at INVasset PMS, noted that the flat listing signals a steady but cautious market response. "The listing comes at a time when India's solar manufacturing ecosystem is benefitting from tailwinds such as the PLI scheme, ALMM revival, and the country’s broader target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil energy capacity by 2030. Emmvee’s focus on advanced technologies like Mono PERC and TOPCon strengthens its competitive positioning as global module efficiencies improve," he said.

While the <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/ipo/emmvee-photovoltaic-shares-make-muted-market-debut-list-flat-at-ipo-price-13682050.html">muted listing</a> shows that a meaningful portion of optimism was already factored into the valuation, the company enters the market with strong sectoral momentum, Jain said. He noted that post-listing, investor attention will naturally shift to execution—timely commissioning of new capacities, stabilisation of operating margins, diversification of its customer base, and the ability to navigate price volatility in solar components. These elements will shape Emmvee’s trajectory in the quarters ahead.

The flat listing of Emmvee was not surprising, as subdued subscription and a sharp fall in GMP indicated that investors are wary of the near-term demand and not the solar story for the long term, said Siddharth Maurya, Founder &amp; Managing Director at Vibhavangal Anukulakara.

'Stock best treated as a cautious hold rather than a conviction buy'

“While scale, integration, and order book growth are all positives for the company, its balance sheet needs further strengthening, and profit margins are significantly influenced by module pricing cycles. For Emmvee, execution of capacity expansion without stretching leverage will constitute value creation. Till the numbers stabilize, this is best treated as a cautious hold rather than a conviction buy,” he added.

Lower chances of Fed rate cut:

A growing number of Federal Reserve policymakers are now showing willingness to not ease rates further. Market expectations for a 25 basis-point rate cut in December fell to nearly 46 percent from 50 percent earlier this week, CME Group's FedWatch tool showed, as reported by Reuters.

Short-term interest rate futures now show much lower chances of the rate-setting Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) lowering its borrowing costs on December 10, when the Fed wraps up its last policy meeting of 2025. Earlier last week the contracts indicated a 67 percent likelihood of a cut.

A rate cut in the US is expected to increase the discretionary spending limit, which in turn benefits IT companies which derive a significant portion of their revenue from the North American market. Hence, the rising expectations of no rate by the Federal Reserve despite earlier hopes may have affected investor sentiment.

Global worries around possible AI bubble:

Earlier last week, SoftBank sold stake worth $5.8 billion in Nvidia, igniting fears that the frenzy around artificial intelligence may have peaked. Recently, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs CEOs warned that stock markets could be heading to a drawdown, while hedge fund manager <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/markets/michael-burry-doubles-down-against-ai-bubble-with-billion-dollar-shorts-revives-dot-com-era-memories-13680920.html">Michael Burry, known for shorts on the US housing market ahead of the 2008 crash</a>, bet against Nvidia and Palantir.

Wall Street and global stock markets fell following the rising fears. Nasdaq is down nearly 1 percent to 22,708.07, while South Korea's Kospi declined over 3 percent and China's Shanghai Composite was down over 1 percent.

Indian IT companies while releasing their Q2 results highlighted rising investments in AI-driven technology and tools. Hence, the worries around the AI bubble having reached its peak may have dampened investor sentiment for these stocks.

Investors await US data:

The sharp fall in the IT stocks also comes as investors actively await key US data, which includes the delayed September jobs report. This comes after the end of the US government shutdown last week.

Several of these government reports on key US data were delayed during US federal government shutdown that began in the beginning of October and ended on November 12, marking the longest government shutdown in US history.

IT companies earn a significant share of revenue from the US.

Profit-booking:

The decline in the IT stocks may have also been fuelled by profit-booking after strong gains. The Nifty IT index gained nearly 5 percent while extending gains during the three sessions from November 10 and November 12.

The shares of the company listed at 145 apiece on NSE, marking a premium of more than 33 percent from the IPO price of Rs 109 apiece. The stock then jumped nearly 12 percent since listing to hit its day's high at Rs 161.99 apiece so far. This marked a rise of around 49 percent higher from the IPO price.

However, the stock then erased most of the intraday gains as investors may have resorted to profit-booking, and was trading at around Rs 146 apiece at 10.57 am. It is still around 1 percent higher than its <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/ipo/physicswallah-share-price-stock-lists-at-33pc-premium-over-ipo-price-on-nse-13682021.html">listing price</a>, and over 33 percent higher than its IPO price.

Its market capitalisation currently stands at Rs 42,618 crore.

The strong market debut has beaten grey market expectations. Ahead of listing, the unlisted shares of the company were trading with around 13 percent grey market premium (GMP) over the IPO price, according to data on Investorgain.

The grey market estimates have significantly improved over the recent days, after hitting zero percent on the day the IPO closed for public bidding (November 13).

Should you buy, sell or hold?

PhysicsWallah began its market journey with a great opening, reflecting investor confidence in the company's strong brand recall, affordable test-prep offerings, and fast-growing hybrid model through both online platforms and PW Pathshala centers, said Shivani Nyati, Head of Wealth at Swastika Investmart.

The analyst noted that the company's strengths include a loyal student base, scalable digital content engine, expanding offline footprint, and diversified presence across JEE, NEET, UPSC, and state-level exams. However, competition from other edtech and offline coaching giants, regulatory uncertainties in the education sector, and the challenge of sustaining profitability during expansion remain key risks.

'Book partial profits, hold the remaining shares for medium-term'

"The IPO garnered healthy retail participation, supported by expectations of continued demand for hybrid learning and deeper penetration in Tier II–III markets. Allottees may book partial profits and hold the remaining shares for medium-term growth with SL 130," Nyati added.

Siddharth Maurya, Founder &amp; Managing Director at Vibhavangal Anukulakara, however advised caution. He noted that at current valuations, the real test is how a business converts millions of free users into paying subscribers while tightening its cost structure.

"If PhysicsWallah manages to prove that regional expansion and hybrid models can give steady margins, it earns long-term credibility," he added.

Key things to watch out for mid to long term returns:

"There is value in the scale it can achieve, but the key headwinds are the presence of players like Unacademy, Byjus, and a hybrid mall, which scales slower than a pure platform play. With a stretched valuation, execution capability to achieve rapid, sustainable growth while retaining top educational talent would be the key if returns are to be made mid to long term," said Shravan Shetty, Managing Director, Primus Partners.

Bhavik Joshi, Business Head at INVasset PMS, noted that the company’s evolution from a single YouTube channel to a multi-format learning ecosystem spanning over 300 offline and hybrid centers underscores its deep student connect and content credibility.

'Profitability remains elusive'

"However, profitability remains elusive, with cumulative losses exceeding ₹1,400 crore across FY23–FY25. The negative earnings base and a steep valuation multiple make this IPO a play on long-term execution rather than immediate returns. While proceeds from the fresh issue are being directed toward aggressive offline expansion, tech infrastructure, and marketing, the operational turnaround timeline will be critical," Joshi said.

'Investors with a high risk appetite may invest':

"Investors with a high risk appetite and a long-term horizon may consider limited participation, betting on eventual operating leverage and monetization of its vast user base. For conservative investors, however, the negative P/E and cash flow pressures suggest waiting until the business demonstrates consistent profitability," he added.

The shares of the company hit an intraday high of Rs 662.80 apiece. The stock then pared some gains to trade around 5 percent higher in the green at Rs 644.45 apiece, as seen at 10.20 am.

Jefferies initiates ‘Buy’ on WeWork India:

Jefferies has initiated coverage on the newly-listed stock with a ‘Buy’ call and a target price of Rs 790 apiece. This implies an upside potential of nearly 28.5 percent from the stock’s previous closing price of Rs 614.8 apiece.

The international brokerage said that the company is the largest flexible workspace operator by revenue in India. It added that higher returns than office landlords and faster growth makes WeWork India an attractive play on India's office market. The segment too is growing at around 17 percent CAGR, which is 2 times the pace of office stock. However, Jefferies cautions that a sharp downturn in office demand remains key risk to the firm’s growth potential.

It added that WeWork India is expected to add approximately 15,000-20,000 seats annually over the next 3 years and that the company’s presence in top-8 cities enables it to target high-end member base, supporting average revenue per user roughly twice that of listed peers.

WeWork India share price jumps 8% after Jefferies gives 'Buy' call, sees up to 28% upside

The shares of WeWork India Management jumped nearly 8 percent in the morning trading hours of November 18 after international brokerage Jefferies initiated a ‘Buy’ call on the stock, with a target price implying strong upside potential from current levels.

The shares of the company hit an intraday high of Rs 662.80 apiece. The stock then pared some gains to trade around 5 percent higher in the green at Rs 644.45 apiece, as seen at 10.20 am.

Jefferies initiates ‘Buy’ on WeWork India:

Jefferies has initiated coverage on the newly-listed stock with a ‘Buy’ call and a target price of Rs 790 apiece. This implies an upside potential of nearly 28.5 percent from the stock’s previous closing price of Rs 614.8 apiece.

The international brokerage said that the company is the largest flexible workspace operator by revenue in India. It added that higher returns than office landlords and faster growth makes WeWork India an attractive play on India's office market. The segment too is growing at around 17 percent CAGR, which is 2 times the pace of office stock. However, Jefferies cautions that a sharp downturn in office demand remains key risk to the firm’s growth potential.

It added that WeWork India is expected to add approximately 15,000-20,000 seats annually over the next 3 years and that the company’s presence in top-8 cities enables it to target high-end member base, supporting average revenue per user roughly twice that of listed peers.
