Meanwhile, India’s largest IT services company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), saw its headcount decline by 19,755 on a net basis in the second quarter of FY26, a period when the company announced plans to let go of about 2 percent of its workforce, or roughly 12,000 employees.

With the latest increase, TCS now employs 5,93,314 people, the company said on October 9.

"The Interim Dividend shall be paid through permitted modes, on or before Wednesday, 12th November, 2025," said the company in an exchange filing.

The company reported EBIT of Rs 1,699 crore, up 33% YoY. Its new deal wins TCV (total contract value) during the quarter was $816 million.

On October 14, Tech Mahindra shares on NSE closed 1.2% higher at Rs 1,469 apiece.

Operating profit (EBIT) rose 43.7 percent to Rs 583.7 crore, translating into a margin of 16.3 percent, compared with the estimated 15.7 percent. In dollar terms, revenue stood at $406.2 million, up 4.2 percent sequentially and 17.6 percent year-on-year.
<h3><strong>CEO outlook: 22nd straight quarter of growth</strong></h3>
Sandeep Kalra, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director, said this marked Persistent’s 22nd consecutive quarter of revenue growth. “Driven by the continued trust of our clients, this performance reflects our commitment to impactful transformation and execution excellence,” Kalra said.

Bank of Maharashtra has reported a 23.09 percent on-year rise in net profit at Rs 1,633 crore during the September quarter, with Net Interest Income (NII) up 15.71 percent on-year to Rs 3,248 crore, an exchange filing said on October 13.

Shares of the lender were sharply lower by over 3 percent after the quarterly results were announced.

Operating Profit saw a growth of 16.91 percent on-year to Rs 2,574 crore for Q2FY26 as against Rs 2,202 crore for Q2FY25. Net Revenue or Net Interest Income plus Other Income for Q2FY26 improved by 13.73 percent to Rs 4,093 crore for Q2FY26. The Cost to Income Ratio for <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/india/stockpricequote/banks-public-sector/bankmaharashtra/BM05">Bank of Maharashtra</a> improved to 37.10 percent for Q2FY26 as against 38.81 percent for Q2FY25.

Return on Assets (RoA) improved to 1.82 percent for Q2FY26 against 1.74 percent for Q2FY24 and 1.80 percent for Q1FY25. Return on Equity (RoE) stood at 22.58 percent for Q2FY26 against 26.01 percent for Q2FY25.

Total Business grew by 14.20 percent year-on-year to Rs 5,63,909 crore. Total Deposits increased by 12.13 percent year-on-year to Rs 3,09,791 crore.

Gross Advances grew by 16.83 percent on year-on-year to Rs 2,54,118 crore. RAM (Retail, Agri. &amp; MSME) Business grew by 16.94 percent YoY and Retail advances, has grown by 37.45 percent YoY.

ICICI Prudential Life Insurance reported an 18 percent year-on-year rise in net profit to Rs 296 crore for the quarter ended September 2025 (Q2 FY26), compared with Rs 251 crore in the same period last year.

The company’s Annualised Premium Equivalent (APE) fell 3 percent to Rs 2,422 crore from Rs 2,504 crore in Q2 FY25. Value of New Business (VNB) rose marginally by 1 percent to Rs 592 crore from Rs 586 crore, while the VNB margin improved to 24.4 percent from 23.4 percent a year ago.

Total premium income grew 10 percent to Rs 12,297 crore in Q2 FY26 from Rs 11,175 crore in Q2 FY25, supported by higher growth in retail business. Retail Weighted Received Premium (RWRP) increased 0.5 percent to Rs 3,284 crore.

By product category, linked savings products accounted for 48 percent of APE, non-linked savings for 22 percent, and protection for 19 percent. Retail protection APE grew 2.4 percent year-on-year to Rs 309 crore, while annuity APE increased 11.8 percent to Rs 935 crore.

On a channel basis, agency business APE rose 23 percent to Rs 305 crore, while bancassurance APE declined 21 percent to Rs 1,067 crore. The direct channel APE grew 23 percent to Rs 546 crore, and partnership distribution rose 15 percent to Rs 767 crore.

Cost ratios improved significantly, with the cost-to-total premium ratio for the savings line of business reducing to 17.7 percent from 20.5 percent, reflecting better operational efficiency.

As of September 2025, the company’s solvency ratio stood at 213.2 percent, compared with 212.2 percent a year earlier. Assets under management (AUM) increased to Rs 3.21 lakh crore from Rs 3.09 lakh crore in September 2024, while embedded value (EV) rose to Rs 50,501 crore from Rs 47,951 crore.

Persistency metrics remained stable, with the 13-month persistency ratio at 85.3 percent compared with 89.8 percent a year earlier. The claim settlement ratio was 99.3 percent during the quarter, with an average settlement time of 1.1 days.
