State Bank of India

Eight officials of SBI—Amit Verma, Debasish Mishra, Dipak Kumar De, Niraj Kumar Panda, Ratna Teja Dinakara Akella, Sahadevan Radhakrishnan, Sukhvinder Kaur Ganesh, and Varinder Khanna—have been promoted as Deputy Managing Directors, effective April 21.

PNC Infratech

The company has emerged as the lowest (L1) bidder for two HAM-based national highway projects worth Rs 3,483 crore.

Aurobindo Pharma

The pharma company has decided to initiate a buyback of 54.23 lakh equity shares worth Rs 800 crore at a price of Rs 1,475 per share, starting April 23. The closing date will be April 29.

BEML

The company has secured an order from the Ministry of Defence for the supply of trawl assemblies, with a contract value of Rs 590 crore.

Hindustan Zinc

The Board will meet on April 24 to consider the audited standalone and consolidated financial results for the fourth quarter and the year ended March 2026, as well as the declaration of the first interim dividend on equity shares, if any, for FY27.

Karnataka Bank

Onesource Specialty Pharma

Fidelity Securities Fund, through its Fidelity Blue Chip Growth Fund, has acquired 20.17 lakh shares (a 1.76 percent stake) in Onesource Specialty Pharma for Rs 308.7 crore. The purchase price was Rs 1,530 per share.

However, Authum Investment &amp;amp; Infrastructure sold 7.77 lakh shares (a 0.67 percent stake) in Onesource at Rs 1,530.09 per share, valued at Rs 118.9 crore, while Nova Global Opportunities Fund PCC – Touchstone offloaded 10.57 lakh shares (a 0.92 percent stake) at Rs 1,530 per share, amounting to Rs 161.85 crore.

As of March 2026, Authum Investment held a 5.16 percent stake in Onesource Specialty Pharma.

Shringar House of Mangalsutra

Thakkar Vardhilal Shivrambhai exited the mangalsutra maker by selling his entire holding of 15.55 lakh shares for Rs 31.9 crore at Rs 205.18 per share. However, Wiinance Financial Services and Arthkumbh Ventures were buyers, though not at the same price.

Wiinance Financial Services bought 7.55 lakh shares at Rs 206.31 per share, valued at Rs 15.57 crore, while Arthkumbh Ventures LLP acquired 8 lakh shares for Rs 16.33 crore at Rs 204.13 per share.

Shyam Telecom

Meghna Agarwal has acquired 1.09 lakh shares (a 0.97 percent stake) in Shyam Telecom at Rs 12.81 per share, amounting to Rs 14.01 lakh.

Mayasheel Ventures

Capacious Wealth Management LLP sold 1.11 lakh shares in Mayasheel Ventures for Rs 56.23 lakh at Rs 50.66 per share.

Fidelity Securities Fund on April 21 has bought nearly 1.8 percent equity stake in Onesource Specialty Pharma, the contract development and manufacturing organization, via open market transactions.

Onesource Specialty Pharma shares rose seven-tenth of a percent to close at Rs 1,560.7 amid high volumes after significant recovery from day's low on the National Stock Exchange. The stock also tested 200-day EMA intraday while sustaining above other key moving averages 20, 50 and 100-day EMAs.

Fidelity Securities Fund through its Fidelity Blue Chip Growth Fund has acquired 20.17 lakh shares (1.76 percent stake) for Rs 308.7 crore. The buying price was Rs 1,530 per share.

Thakkar Vardhilal Shivrambhai exited the mangalsutra maker by selling entire 15.55 lakh shares for Rs 31.9 crore, at Rs 205.18 per share. However, Wiinance Financial Services, and Arthkumbh Ventures were buyers but not at the same price.

Wiinance Financial Services has bought 7.55 lakh shares at Rs 206.31 per share, valued at Rs 15.57 crore while Arthkumbh Ventures LLP picked up 8 lakh shares for Rs 16.33 crore at Rs 204.13 per share.

The brisk action was also seen in Shyam Telecom, and Mayasheel Ventures. Meghna Agarwal has acquired 1.09 lakh shares (0.97 percent stake) in Shyam Telecom at Rs 12.81 per share, amounting to Rs 14.01 lakh, while Capacious Wealth Management LLP sold 1.11 lakh shares in Mayasheel Ventures for Rs 56.23 lakh at Rs 50.66 per share.

Shyam Telecom shares were locked in 20 percent upper circuit at Rs 12.84 after gap-up opening amid high volumes on the National Stock Exchange, climbing above all key moving averages, whereas Mayasheel Ventures shares fell 8.32 percent to Rs 51.25.

PNB Housing Finance was in the spotlight after reporting quarterly results, with net profit rising 14.4% at Rs 648.7 crore, year-on-year. The stock moved more than 6%, as investors reacted to operational performance. The board recommended the final dividend of Rs 8 per share for FY26

NELCO also gained the attention, rising 12 percent after announcing strong quarterly earnings with turning profitable in March quarter by posting net profit of Rs 1.09 crore, while revenue soared 17.3% to Rs 79.2 crore, YoY.

On the other hand, Indosolar shed 5 following its revenue declines 56%, meanwhile its profit increased by 4.9% to Rs 42 crore.

Among Auto names, SML Mahindra share slipped more than 5% despite company reported better earnings in Q4 with profit rising 2% and revenue jumped 16%.

Meanwhile, TVS Motor Company shares was up marginally after company enters agreement with Hyundai Motor for the development, manufacturing, and commercialisation of electric micromobility three-wheelers (including their versions or variants).

Market participants said news flow remains a key driver in the current environment, with investors closely tracking corporate announcements and sector-specific triggers. With earnings season in progress, company-specific updates are expected to drive further volatility.

Lemon Tree Hotels advanced for a second straight session, gaining 8 percent after announcing it will add a 90-room property in Garudeshwar under its brand, to be managed by its wholly owned subsidiary, Carnation Hotels Private Limited.

Midcap and smallcap stocks continued to see selective interest. Bank of Maharashtra rallied 4 percent after reporting a 15 percent rise in net profit to Rs 2,014 crore, while net interest income increased 19 percent to Rs 3,702.5 crore. The lender also saw improvement in asset quality, with gross NPA declining to 1.45 percent and net NPA improving to 0.13 percent. LIC Housing Finance gained 3 percent on strong volumes.

Sectorally, Nifty Bank and Nifty PSU Bank were among the top gainers, rising 1 percent each, followed by Nifty FMCG and Nifty Metal, which gained 0.9 percent and 0.7 percent, respectively.

Market breadth remained positive, with 2,482 stocks advancing and 907 declining on the BSE, indicating broad participation.

Traders said the market continues to remain stock-specific, with earnings visibility and news flow driving price action. While largecaps remain relatively stable, midcaps and smallcaps are witnessing sharper moves on both sides. Volatility remains contained, though participants remain cautious amid mixed global cues and ahead of key domestic triggers.

In a market short on fresh triggers, several stocks saw sharp moves on April 21, driven by price action, technical breakouts, and shifts around key moving averages.

On the positive side, Samay Projects Services rose 4.41 percent to Rs 41, moving above its 30-day moving average of Rs 39.27 and trading near its 50-day average of Rs 41.86. Future Enterprises gained 3.65 percent to Rs 2.84, crossing both its 30-day and 50-day averages of Rs 2.74 and Rs 2.78.

Global Education advanced 2.66 percent to Rs 101.51 and remained above its 30-day and 50-day averages, along with its longer-term averages, indicating sustained strength. Osia Hyper Retail rose 2.47 percent to Rs 5.40 and moved above its 30-day average of Rs 5.27, though it continues to trade below its higher moving averages. Union Gold gained 1.90 percent to Rs 150.65 and stayed above its 30-day and 50-day averages of Rs 147.84 and Rs 149.54.

On the downside, Sanco Industries declined 3.51 percent to Rs 2.20, slipping below its 30-day and 50-day averages of Rs 2.28 and Rs 2.33, and remaining under its longer-term averages. Transport Corporation of India fell 0.95 percent to Rs 962 and traded below its 30-day and 50-day averages of Rs 971.27 and Rs 1,004.48, along with its 150-day and 200-day levels.

Brace Port Logistics dropped 0.76 percent to Rs 58.85, moving below its 30-day and 50-day averages. KSR Footwear declined 0.43 percent to Rs 35.10, slipping slightly below its 30-day average but staying above its 50-day average. Elin Electronics fell 0.19 percent to Rs 115.10 and traded below its 30-day, 50-day and longer-term averages. MVK Agro Food Product slipped 0.17 percent to Rs 530 and moved below its 30-day and 50-day averages, while also remaining under its 150-day average.
