On 12 June 2025, an Air India Dreamliner crashed near airport soon after take-off. The flight had 242 people onboard, however number of casualties is unconfirmed.

On 22 May 2020, a PIA flight crashed into a Karachi neighbourhood during landing. 97 of the 99 onboard died. Pilot error and engine failure were blamed.

In January 2023, a Yeti Airlines flight crashed near Pokhara, Nepal, killing all 72 onboard. A power cut by the pilots led to an aerodynamic stall and crash.

Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 was shot down over Ukraine in 2014. All 298 onboard were killed. A Dutch court later convicted three men in connection to the attack.

In June 2009, an Air France flight from Brazil to France crashed into the Atlantic. All 228 died. The cause was linked to equipment failure and pilot error.

In 1974, a Turkish Airlines plane crashed in a forest near Paris after a cargo door blew open mid-air. All 346 onboard died. The design was later changed.

A Japan Airlines flight crashed into a mountain in 1985 due to cabin pressure loss. Of the 524 onboard, 520 died. It remains the deadliest single-aircraft crash.

In 1996, two aircraft collided near Delhi. A Saudi and a Kazakh plane were involved. All 349 people on both planes died. The airspace system was changed later.
