In Hindu scriptures, divine weapons or “Astras” were used by gods and epic warriors in battles. These supernatural weapons held immense power and required special mantras to invoke.

1. Brahmastra
The mighty Brahmastra, linked to Lord Brahma, could destroy entire armies. Only a few warriors like Rama and Lakshmana could use it. It’s known as the ultimate celestial weapon.

2. Trishula
Lord Shiva’s Trishula is a trident said to be unstoppable. It can destroy anything in existence except Shiva and Parvati, making it the most powerful weapon in Shaiva tradition.

3. Sudarshana Chakra
Vishnu’s Sudarshana Chakra is a spinning disc that never misses its target. Controlled by Vishnu’s will, it was used by Krishna to kill Shishupala in the Mahabharata.

4. Vibhuti
This divine ash weapon of Goddess Devi targets only enemies. It marks their weak points before arrows are released. Barbarika intended to use it in the war but was stopped by Krishna.
5. Indrastra
Indra’s weapon creates many powerful replicas and strikes the enemy with great force. Warriors like Arjuna, Rama, and Lakshmana used it in epic battles.
6. Vasavishakti
A deadly single-use weapon gifted by Indra to Karna. He used it to kill Ghatotkacha during the Kurukshetra War. It was filled with divine energy and ensured instant death.
7. Prasvapastra
This weapon makes enemies fall into deep sleep. Bhishma had it but didn’t use it on his guru Parashurama. Rama also used it in the Ramayana.

8. Agneyastra
Agni’s fire weapon unleashes inextinguishable flames. It burned entire armies. Arjuna and Ashwatthama used it in fierce battles to incinerate their enemies.
9. Varunastra
Varuna’s water weapon creates massive floods. It is often used to counter the Agneyastra. Many warriors like Arjuna, Rama, and Indrajit had control over this astra.
10. Manavastra
Created by Manu, this weapon could send enemies far away and even change their nature. Rama used it on the demon Maricha; Arjuna also possessed it.
